8. Ouch?

"Okay Dr. Baker, explain everything, step by step, that happened to you or what you did during the night of the particle accelerator" Dr. Wells says as everyone gathered around Tori who was sitting down at the computer desk with Barry standing by her side.

Tori subconsciously wraps her arms around her.

Barry notices and grabs one of her hands, interlocking them together before smiling at her.

"So as you all know, well except Barry, I was in charge of the cortex the night of the accelerator. I stayed in the cortex until a couple minutes after Ronnie left to the accelerator.

I realized that the accelerator went off and that Iris and Barry were still outside in the main hall, so I went to find them and try to bring them to safety.

I went to the main hall and tried finding them in the crowd of screaming and running citizens per usual" she laughs but realized no one else was laughing with her.

"Anyways, since I didn't see them, I went outside to see if they were out there. I ran out there, obviously not seeing them and as I ran back in, lightning struck right in front of me"

"Did you feel anything? Any energy running through you?" Barry asks, getting excited and Tori nods.

"Yeah, I felt as though the lightning energy was radiating through my body. I didn't think much of it because you could believe I was in shock. Also I thought maybe that's how it feels when you're so close to that much energy.

Anyways, after that I ran back to the cortex and that's all" Tori finished and Caitlin stops writing on her notepad that she was taking notes on.

"Did you feel anything else after the lightning?"

"No not really-"

"I don't get it. Barry got speed from being struck by the lightning but Tori got speed just from the energy" Cisco points out.

"Maybe it was because she was already running when the lightning hit, and the lightning activated the same thing Barry had which made her have that speed?" Caitlin theorized.

"That's a theory, Dr.Snow. We're not even 100% sure she is a speedster. We are going to have to run some tests, if that's okay Tori" Dr. Wells turns to Tori and she nods her head before turning towards Barry.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Barry asks and Tori nods.

"Yeah I think I'll be fine, you're with me" she smiles and he blushes slightly, smiling at the ground making Tori chuckle.

She reaches her hand to cup his cheek, "c'mon, let's go" she said and then turned around to walk to Caitlin who had needles and stuff.

Barry stood there, looking over at her thinking about how much he loved that girl.

After a morning filled with testing Tori, they started running the tests and what not.

"Okay, so I've been doing research on how I could of possibly harvested energy from the near lightning. Turns out that ever since the 80's, scientists have been studying on how humans can gain energy from lightning" Tori says, showing Dr. Wells an article online and stands up, starting to pace the floor.

"A single bolt of lightning carries approximately 5 billion joules of energy. This energy is reacted-concentrated as you might say, on one central location and passes in a very short period of time. Let's say, milliseconds, which makes a large amount of electrical power involved in that location -in this situation, me" Tori looks around the room at the scientists who have been listening to her intently.
