32. Emotion

It takes a few minutes for Wells and Cisco to join. Tori calls Barry who said he needed to stay at work but will be there as soon as possible.

"How old is the kid?" Cisco asks.

"Well, according to these doctor records" Caitlin looks up at Tori,"Brooke lost the baby 11 months ago"

Tori sighs sadly, looking down.

"What are you thinking right now?" Cisco asks.

"I'm trying to connect things. These attacks and why she targets Barry and I and Wells" she lists.

"Wait" Caitlin exclaims,"Brooke was put in Iron Heights 11 months ago as well but was released"

"Why was she put in?"

"Attack on a hospital, threatening the hospital"

"Maybe that was when she found out about her miscarriage. She was angry at them for something" Cisco thinks.

"11 months ago these two things happened. The particle accelerator went off about a year ago. The cells in her body must of regenerated so much that the baby couldn't handle it and it killed it"

"Yes, and how does this connect?" Wells finally speaks up.

"This might be the reason why she hates you so much" Tori looks at him,"no offense"

"None taken"

"This might be why she targets me and Barry. Because we work for Dr. Wells. They blame Dr. Wells for killing their baby"

A few minutes later, Cisco walks out and Wells rolls to another side room while Tori and Caitlin stay where they are.

Suddenly, their hair flies up, Barry landing right in front of them.

"What happened?" He asks and they explain everything that they learned.

"Wait, so you almost had a niece or nephew?" He asks, walking to Tori.

"Yep" she sighs as Barry wraps his arms around her shoulders, kissing the top of her head.

"It explains why they hate us so much" Barry says and Tori nods.

"Anyways, did anything happen with Mardon?" She asks, looking up at Barry.

"Oh yeah, he blew up Joe's car"

"What!" Tori stands up,"is Joe okay? What happened?"

"Joe's fine, I got us out in time. Mardon was following us, giving us our own personal rain cloud, literally" Barry explains.

"He struck lightning on us and that's how Joe's car blew up...or was set on fire" Barry says and Cisco walks back into the cortex, rolling something in.

He places the box in the center of the cortex, gathering everyone around it.

"I call it the Wizard's Wand" he picks up the device from the box and showing it to everyone.

"Subtle" Caitlin says.

"How does it work?" Barry asks.

"Think of it like an active lightning rod. You just point it at the sky, and it'll suck up whatever energy's floating around it like a sponge" Barry grabs the thing from Cisco's hand, playing around with it.

"And it'll stop Mardon?" Tori asks, watching as Barry used it as a sword, looking at Cisco and laughing.

"It'll certainly slow him down. If there's no atmospheric electrons available to him, there's no way for him to control the weather" Wells says,"good work Cisco, as always. Now if you excuse me, I'm gonna go stretch my legs" he rolls away.
