38. Unfortunate Events

"Guys" Tori presses her ear piece as she runs to Barry who was on the floor, unresponsive.

Joe checks his pulse,"he doesn't have a pulse"

"He's going into cardiac arrest" Tori hears Wells and her heart starts beating faster.

"Barry, stay with me" she grabs his hand as she begins to tear up,"I'm gonna take him back to the lab" she says.

"No, just step back" Cisco replied and she does, pulling Joe with her.

"What are you-"

"We need to jumpstart his heart. There's a defibrillator in his suit" Cisco explains.

"I did not know that"

"You have one too"

"Nice"

All of a sudden, the chest of his suit begins to light up and an electric shock is released, making Barry jump up but not affecting him.

"Guys, it didn't work"

"Yeah, we know. We're going up to 400 joules"

"Oh god please work" Tori crosses her fingers, Joe pulling her closer to him.

"He'll be alright" Joe whispers and Barry's body jumps up again making Tori hide her head in Joe's chest.

In a second, they hear a gasp making them look at Barry.

His eyes open and he looks around as the two run to him.

"Oh my God, Barry" Tori says, kneeling down to him and he grabs her hand.

"Barry" Joe sighs, kneeling as well as Barry gasps for air.

"I'm okay" he heaves,"I'm okay"

"Let's get to the lab" Tori says.

"I'll meet you there" Joe replies before jogging to his car.

"That is it for the defibrillator. It is completely fried" Cisco says once Barry is okay and sitting next Tori, surrounded by everyone else in the cortex.

"I'm still surprised we have defibrillators in our suits" says Tori, resting her head on Barry's shoulder, making him kiss her head.

"You're lucky to be alive, Mr. Allen" Dr. Wells says.

"I was very specific that you not die" Felicity stands in front of him.

"Yeah, I say that a lot and it never ends up going as planned" Tori sighs.

"Cisco, what happened out there? I followed your directions exactly" Barry changes the subject.

"And then he changes the subject once we start lecturing him about it. It's a cycle" Tori mumbles to the Starling City couple.

"I'm sorry" Cisco starts,"I led you the wrong way. The schematics that we had, they weren't up to date"

"What? They weren't up to date?" Barry asks.
