24. Just Like Me

Tori walks into the pipeline by herself in her suit, seeing Hartley in a cell.

He looks up and stands as she walks closer.

"Tori" he greets.

She gets a surprised look on her face and he notices, smirking.

"I noticed how I could only hear three voices in you and the Flash's ear piece. There was four when I was alone with The Flash. I'm not stupid, Baker"

"I don't think you're stupid" Tori says, shaking her head,"I just think your evil"

"I understand that. I don't think I ever told you I was sorry"

"If you did, you didn't mean it"

"I did love him at one point-"

"Bullshit"

"I did!" He says, angry,"I did love him. I loved him before I left him"

"Then why didn't you tell him? Why did you do all those harsh things to him"

"I was trying to get over him, maybe even make him leave this job. Instead, I made him leave his life" he says sadly.

"I won't fall into your stupid lies. If you loved him, why didn't you stay with him"

"I didn't want to be in a relationship that was built on a lie" he explains and she shakes her head, pacing around the small room.

"You don't make sense" she sighs,"I'm done talking to you" she says, walking to the button to close his cell.

"Trust me, you won't want to be. Soon you'll be coming back to open these doors and let me out" he says, leaning against the glass with his hands and tapping it.

"And what makes you think that?" She asks, stopping in place.

"Because I know where Ronnie Raymond is and I know exactly what happened to him that night"

"Hey, where are you?" Is the first thing Barry asks when Tori answers her phone about a week after locking up Rathaway.

"At the precinct, helping Joe. Do they need me at the lab?"

"No" he says,"wait, why are you helping Joe?"

"I don't know. He said he needed me for 'something sciency'" she quotes.

"Then why didn't he call me?"

"I don't know" she shrugs before seeing Joe walking to her,"I gotta go now. See you later"

She heard him say a quick "bye, Baby" before she hung up.

"Sup Joe. What'd you need me for?"

"You know I am skeptical of Dr. Wells, so I need to know more about him"

"Why didn't you just ask Barry" she asks as they walk up the stairs and up to Barry's lab.

"Because then he'd ask me too many questions and we'd get into a long argument and it's just not pretty" he laughs, opening the door to Barry's lab.

She walks to his table, sitting down and looking around.

She smiles as she sees a picture of her there, her stomach erupting with butterflies.

"Also, you're the only one I know that finds Dr. Wells sketchy"

"True" she replies.

Joe looks down at the desk and sees the picture of Tori.
