"OH MY GOD, BES!"

Who do you think that is? You guessed it. My ever so loud mouth best friend, Julia.

Surprisingly I managed to get through three periods knowing what happened this morning.

My legs were resting on top of the cafeteria table while my back against a wall. I sat far away from civilization because that's just how it's always been.

Ever since the meat loaf earlier this year, that is. Teenagers scare me. Not all of them though.

As usual my earphones are attached to my ears and my eyes buried in a book.

Julia yanked my earphones out of my ear which caused me to have her a dirty look. It's not that I'm not used to it, it's that I'm so used to it it's getting annoying.

She noticed my stare and slowly put my earphones back in my ear and flashed me her biggest smile.

"Sheesh, sorry bes. There you go again with your war glares. Loosen up, you wouldn't want Mr. Grumpy seeing you all tense now would you?" She said with a smirk.

"You talk to much Juls." I simply said while rolling my eyes. I continued reading.

Lunch was the same. Juls and I had lunch and talked. Miles came to us giggly and peppy as always.

Daniel passed by with a trail of screaming girls. I couldn't help but laugh and my attention directed to miles who just rolled her eyes to him.

I wonder how long they've been together? I'm not going to ask because there's a reason she hasn't told us. It's their business.

"Bes, we have band practice today. Don't forget." Julia reminded me.

"How can I forget when every 2 minutes one of you guys remind me," I sassed.

"Chill out, in that rate of sass by the time we're the age of Auntie Min and my mom you'd have wrinkles and no boyfriend. Lighten up a bit bes, besides you may never know a boy might fall in love with that smile of yours," Julia said nudging me on the side.

"Like me, I fall in love with your smile everyday."

We all tuned around to see who said that. Who else?

It was Enrique.

I turned around pretending I don't acknowledge he's present.

"Except for you. Kath knows better not to get back with a cheater. Specially with someone she categorized as her best friend. Enrique, you should just leave. You're giving us a headache." Julia said without hesitation.

"Julia, you talk to much. I was actually talking to Kathryn. And I don't leave til she says I leave." Enrique said confidently sitting down next to me while snaking his arms around my shoulders.

I stood up before he could fully sit down. I grabbed his arm that was supposedly around my shoulders. I yanked it away from me.

"In that case, leave. I don't need you or your bullshit around me Enrique. The only reason you're still in my band is because we need you." I said still standing.

"You still need me?" He said with a smirk.

"The band needs you. I don't need you. You're the last person I'll ever need in my life. To make it crystal clear to you, I hate you so much. If you died I wouldn't care. Do you know why?" I asked him.

He remained silent.

"BECAUSE I DO NOT NEED YOU. As a matter of fact, I despite you. I pity you. I curse you. Not only are you a cheater, you're also pathetic because you believe we'll ever be a thing again. When in reality, you're just a broken promise to me. Your nothing but shit." I said calmly and slowly so he'll get the memo.
