"So wait, why didn't you tell me any of this the night after the mall fight with Liza and them?" I asked flashing back to the night he and I could've shared our first kiss if it weren't for Julia barging in.
"I did. I told you Miles was my sister." He said coolly.
"But you were explaining the reproductive system. You were explaining why her last name was Padilla and not Ford. Why did you lie?" I asked.
"I didn't lie. Her last name is Padilla because it's true, she doesn't want to be sucked in the horror of companies so she wanted to remain a secret. She used Mama Karla's maiden name as her last name." He explained.
I nodded in understanding.
"But wait why didn't you just tell me Miles was just your step sister?" I asked.
"Although she is, I don't see that. She's my sister whether it be half or full. She'll always be my sister."
Awww.
I tapped his shoulder.
"You're a good brother." I smiled at him.
"Yeah, I know." He smirked and winked.
The rest of the night was a blur.
DINNNNNNNG DONNNNNNGG
"Get it." Julia said with her sleepy voice.
It was dark and cold in my room.
I looked over to the clock placed on top of my table.
8:23 am.
It's so early. Who on earth can that possibly be?
How annoying.
Julia slept over last night after our gig. It's a normal occurrence.
I got up not even bothering to check how I looked.
My eyes half closed.
I walked down the stairs not turning one single light on.
It was just Julia and I because my mom is at work and Nay Glenda is out grocery shopping and Tay Bert is doing what Tay Bert does.
I got to the door.
"What." I asked rudely.
That's what they get for disturbing my slumber this early in the morning.
"Hi, ate Kath." It was Magui.
I was caught by surprised which was totally obvious because I reacted like I've seen a ghost.
It's been two weeks since I last saw her at dinner with our families. That night was definitely memorable.
"Hello? Good morning ate Kath. Are you all right?" She asked.
"Uh... Yea—Yeah." I stammered.
I looked left and right to see if she was with other people.
"Kuya DJ isn't here, just me." Magui spoke breezily.
I looked at her. How embarrassing. Not that I was looking for DJ, I was just wondering if she came here by herself.
"Hey, Mags. Why are you up so early? Why are you alone? What made you come here? Is there a prob—" I was interrupted by Magui.
