"Go out with me."
With that, I froze.
What does he mean go out with him?
I swear boys are so confusing.
One minute they show you how they feel about you then the next, they're making out with your arch nemesis right before your very eyes!
And now! Now he wants to "go out with me"?!
Kath, play a little hard to get! Don't make him think you're easy!
I turned around to face him. My anger vanished when I saw his little nervous smile.
He's holding the back of his neck and looking down with that nervous smile of his. Sweat beads formed on his forehead and his hands in his pocket.
I swear, he's oozing with sex appeals effortlessly.
Kath! Snap out of it! You're stronger than this! Don't let his charm infiltrate your decision!
"Wouldn't you wanna go out with Liza, I believe she's free." I said in my coldest voice and proceeded to walk farther away from the situation.
Phew! I can finally breath, it was getting hot over there.
I felt a grasp on my arm and sooner I was flipped to face the boy I so longingly needed to escape from.
"Uh.." I was shocked at how fast things were going.
I was walking but was then yanked by DJ. Yanked! That hurt!
"What the hell is your problem! I'm not some toy you can just swing around!" I snatched my arm away back to me and away from his grasp.
"I'm so sorry.." His face turned to an unfamiliar emotion. Kinda like he was guilty.
If I wasn't mad, I would've pulled my book out and added another tally.
"I didn't mean to hurt you, I guarantee you that."
Is that a double meaning?
"Well you did."
"So let me make it up to you."
He looked at me straight in the yes. His eyeballs glistening like there was something there. Something beautiful waiting for it to be discovered.
I shook my head and snapped out of the hypnotizing trance he was trying to lure me in.
"What makes you think your stares and glances and smolder smiles would work on a girl like me?" I crossed my arms and sassed him.
"That's why. You're way different than those other girls who fall for my charms. You're not afraid to be yourself when I'm around. You're not afraid to sass me. Most girls would never admit they're right when we talk, they always believe I'm right, but with you, well you slap it in my face like it some prize you've been waiting to receive."
I remained silent.
"You're not afraid to be who you really are."
I gave him no response.
"All I'm asking for is a chance to prove to you that just like you, I'm different."
I froze once more.
"What are you trying to say?"
He grabbed his hair and looked like he was about to yank it off.
He was a bit frustrated, I see.
"If it isn't clear to you.."
