C36 "The Call"

Garroth's POV

Who was that anyway...why does it want to ruin my life?

Now that everything's fine...another comes and ruin it all over again.

Does this have something to do with my past? My family?

"Garroth"

I snapped back to reality as soon as Dante shook my shoulder.

"Are you still bothered by the call?"

I looked away from his gaze and nodded my head.

"Yes...what if he wants to hurt Aphmau? All because of me...I don't want her to get hurt"

I said harshly. All I feel right now is confusion and hate.Dante sat beside me and flashed a smile.

"Hey...stop worrying.What if it was all a prank call? It's not that someone would take your life or anything."

"What if it wasn't?"

I said sharply while standing up.

"My family hides a lot of secrets..... And they're good at it"

I said while staring into the horizon.Dante shot me a confused look and shook his head.

"Stop worrying! Take a break will 'ya! I'm going to my girlfriend..."

I just stared at Dante as he walked away.He seems so fine about it.I sat down and thought hard.

My family is capable of many things...

"Garroth?"

I perched my head up to see a sweet face.

"Aphmau.."

"Why are you so troubled?"

She said while sitting beside me.I took a deep breath and looked into her brown hazel eyes filled with worry.

"The call...the person sounds like Zane...."

"Who's Zane?"

I forgot I haven't told her about my family yet....should I?

"Uhh.....he's...my...friend"

Screw.I lied to her.Why would I lie to my girlfriend...

"Friend...why are you so worried about Zane? He's just your friend right?"

What am I going to say?!?! Think Garroth! Think!

"He...uh...."

"Hey guys!"

Phew! Good thing Cadenza came in.That was close.

"Hi Cadenza!"

Aphmau exclaimed cheerfully. Cadenza smiled and showed us her phone.

"I posted pictures in Fayshbuk and sent some to Laurence via email"

Cadenza said cheerfully.She seems so happy...

"Thanks Cadenza!"

I said nervously,she shot me a smile and kept her phone.

"Oh yeah.Thanks for the dinner! I have to go! I have to call Laurence! Anyway,Bye!"

We bid our goodbyes as Cadenza rode her car and went off.I looked at Aphmau who seems to be confused about what is happening.

"Hey"

I said.She turned her head in my direction and I cupped both of her cheeks in my hands.

"Don't worry...I got this...get dome sleep.Let's just talk about this tomorrow."
