ASHER'S POV

The sunlight cut across my face like a blade, forcing my eyes open. My head felt like it had been stuffed with concrete. I blinked slowly, vision blurred, ears ringing faintly from last night's alcohol. I never drink like that. I don't even like drinking. But last night was... necessary.

There was a silhouette near the window, seated calmly on the couch. The curtains fluttered slightly behind her, backlit by the morning glow. I couldn't see her face.

"Who are you?" I croaked, reaching blindly for my glasses.

The figure stood and moved toward me.

My heart jolted.

"Viana?" I pushed my glasses up properly, panic slicing through the fog in my head.

She leaned against the edge of the bed, tilting her head. "Hi, Asher. Nakalimutan mo na ba ang pinakamainit nating pagsasama?"

My brain stopped functioning.

She leaned closer, brushing her nose lightly against my neck. I felt her breath there—warm, deliberate. My pulse spiked instantly, betraying me. I swallowed hard.

"What are you talking about?" My voice sounded smaller than I intended.

"Nangyari lahat kagabi," she murmured, voice dropping lower. "And it was... so hot."

Her fingers slid up to my cheek, tracing my jaw like she was remembering something. That smile—dangerous, playful, but unreadable—curved slowly on her lips.

My stomach twisted.

"Are you telling me something happened between us?" I asked carefully, my chest tightening.

"Exactly!" she chirped.

For a split second, dread swallowed me whole. I couldn't remember anything past the bar. The laughter. The decision. The promise.

Did I lose control?

"Stop joking," I said sharply, pushing her hand away and backing into the headboard. "It's not funny."

She climbed onto the mattress beside me, dragging her fingers lazily through my messy hair. "I'm not joking, honey. You were actually... really good."

Heat shot up my neck. I could feel it crawling into my ears. "Viana."

And then she burst into laughter.

Bright. Unapologetic. Cruel in the cutest way possible.

"Nakakatuwa ka talaga asarin, nerd!" She hopped off the bed, still laughing, walking toward the door.

I exhaled heavily, dragging both hands down my face.

God.

For a second, I had genuinely panicked.

For a second, I thought I ruined everything.

"Bakit ka ba kasi naglasing doon sa bar, ha?" she shouted from the other room.

She walked back in—and my brain short-circuited.

She was wearing one of my oversized shirts. Just that. The hem brushed against the tops of her thighs. Bare legs. Messy bun. No makeup. No effort.

And she still looked devastating.

I forced my eyes upward, but they betrayed me halfway.

"Nothing," I muttered, attempting to sit up.

The room tilted violently. I grabbed the mattress but still fell back.

"Putangina!" She dropped what she was holding and rushed to my side. "Maglalasing ka tapos hindi mo pala kaya? Ano ka ba?"
