The aftermath of his pageant win unveiled itself over the next couple of days. Alden is no longer just a gorgeous student of Bright University, he became the face of it. His fame went to a whole new different level.  

"Have you talked to your sister?" Alden asked Andrew before they reached the hallway. 

"About what?"

"About me, dummy."

"I did ... what part of that do you wanna know about?"

"The part where she told you that she still loves me and she wants me back."

"Sorry bro ... if that's what you want then you're dreaming."

"What?" Alden asked in a disappointed tone. He thought him winning the pageant could make Vanessa realize how important he is. 

"I'm surprised too." Andrew whispered. Alden narrowed his eyebrows, his mind is telling him to think of other ways to make Vanessa notice while his heart already wants to let her go completely. 

A couple minutes later, they reached the classroom. Alden looked around but did not see Maine. 

"Where are you?"

Maine only slept for about two hours then spent the rest of the night sitting on her bed wondering if she's still doing the right thing. The young girl is well aware of her own feelings. She's in love with him, but he's still hung up on someone else. 

A couple of days ago, she spent the night at Alden's house. And though she stayed there only for several hours, she was still able to get back some of the feelings she felt when they were younger. 

After a few more minutes of getting lost in her own thought, Maine walked out of the room and went downstairs. 

"Happy Birthday Mum! I love you." she greeted and hugged her.   

"Thank you sweetie , aren't you going to school today?" Mrs. Mendoza asked. 

"Nope. Just for today though don't worry."

"Fine, if that's what you want but please don't take your grades for granted."

"I know."

A few minutes after their morning break started, Alden called up Maine to check on her. He pulled out his phone and swiftly dialed her number. 

"Hey what happened to you?" he asked right away. 

"I'm good ... why?"

"Why are you not here?" he asked in a concerned tone. 

"It's my Mum's birthday, chill." 

 "You did not tell me."

"DO I need o tell you everything?" she asked, causing his heart to skip a beat. 

"You work for me remember? Maine I'm your boss. A very sexy and charming boss."

"Shut up." she replied and so he giggled a bit. Alden misses her. 

"Oh by the way, next week we're going camping." the young guy uttered, telling Maine what he and Andrew planned last night.

 "Camping? why?" she asked .
