Girlfriend For Hire || maiden. (Under Editing)

XVII. - Us -

After two days, Alden finally got better. But there's one thing that haven't changed at all, he's almost always running late to school. 

"Get in!" he yelled at her.

A very panicky Maine jumped onto the car and asked him how he woke up so late. 

"Sorry , got caught up in the movie." he replied before they took a turn towards the school shortcut. 

 "What movie?" the young girl asked. 

 "Nothing important." he replied. 

"Just tell me, Alden."

"It's nothing important, seriously."  

"Is it a chick flick?" Maine asked with a teasing smile on her face. 

"No." he answered. 

 "Then what is it?"

"It's nothing important Maine. You know what you can do right now? pray that we won't be late." he said, really hoping that they'll make it in time. 

"Then just tell me so I can move on from it."

"Fine .. I watched 'A Walk to Remember' ... happy now?" Alden asked, only to hear Maine giggle. He tried to make her stop but she just continued. 

"I knew it" he muttered after they pulled up in the parking lot.

"Sorry ... I just didn't know."

"Didn't know what?"

"You watched it last night as well."

"You watched that?" he asked.

"I did." Maine replied and then smirked at him. As soon as the young guy looked on, he saw the same swarm of people waiting for them at the entrance of the main building. 

"Seriously? Don't they have a life?" Alden asked her. 

"Judging by what they're doing right now, I'm gonna vote no." Maine replied and just sighed. The young guy then held her hand and they started walking towards their schoolmates. Alden caught a glimpse of Vanessa but he just ignored her.

"I don't think I'll ever get used to that." Maine told Hannah.

"Well a little price to pay for fake dating a yummy stud like Alden." she replied before giving her a wink. Maine unexpectedly blushed at the thought of them together. 

 "Are you blushing?" Hannah asked. 

 "What? No." she denied right away. 

 "You're definitely blushing." a familiar voice said. Maine turned and saw Alden standing behind her. 

"Were you standing there the whole time?" she asked, he nodded right away like a little kid. 

 "I hate you .. I so hate the two of you." Maine said, making them laugh.

 "Hey guys!" the three young people looked behind Alden and saw Anna smiling. 

"Ugh what do you want?" the young guy asked , only to receive pinch at his lower back from Maine. "What? I'm just asking" he whispered at her. 

"You know I can still hear you right?" Anna asked and so he stopped. 

 "What can we do for you?" Maine then asked the school paper editor. Anna in return handed them fliers. The young guy read what's on it and saw that it's a search for contestants.

"Contestants for what?" Alden asked Anna. 

"Mr. Bright 2015 ... this is good babe you should join." Maine said, grinning at him. 

"What? No!"

 Maine has never been this thankful that Anna is in the same place as her. Now in order to get back at Alden for making her his personal nurse for a day, the young girl signed him up for the pageant.

"I don't want to join." Alden told her.

"He's joining!" Maine yelled while Alden tried to pull her away. 

"Okay then. Thanks!" Anna replied and then started walking away from them.  As soon as she's out of sight, the young guy looked at Maine eye to eye. 

"Why did you do that?" he asked. 

"It'll be great." Maine replied and then smiled at him.

"I'm not joining."

 "Too late. I'm sure your name is on the list by now."

"That's not my problem." he replied and gave her a proud smile. 

" Actually it is."

Suddenly, their professor came in and greeted them for the morning. Alden just sighed and went  to his seat, much to the delight of Maine. 

"Alden in a pageant should be good." she thought to herself. 

"Before we start I would like to commend our new companion here ... Alden Richards for joining the yearly contest." 

Maine then started cheering him on then just a few seconds after, everyone else in the room followed her. "Alden! Alden! Alden!" they all chanted at the same time. The young girl saw him giving glaring at her but she just ignored him.

 Later that day, Alden went to Anna's room to personally ask her to remove his name on the contestant list. 

"I can't do that, sorry." she replied and then walked out of the room. The young guy followed and asked why.

"The list is not in my hands anymore."

"Then where is it?"

"You know what Alden I don't get you, you will already win the title that's for sure and you still don't want to join?"

"It's not my thing , now please tell me where can I find the list?"

"You really want to see the lists huh?" she asked. 

"Yeah."

"It's in the administrator's office, in the hands of the owner of the school. Good Luck" Anna answered and smiled at him. Alden just grunted and walked away. He went straight to Maine and asked her to help him. 

 "Sorry I can't."

 "Why? You're the one who put me in there."

"It's not my problem Alden and besides, it will be a good way to show off to Vanessa right?" Maine asked, grinning.

 "Just help me will ya?"

"I don't want to." the young girl replied and so Alden grabbed her hand and pulled her close to him. Their faces are now only inches apart. With just one look, he got lost in her expressive eyes. 

"Help me or I'll kiss you." he whispered at Maine.

"Still not helping you." the young girl replied, trying to free herself from his hug. 

"Okay then." he thought to himself before leaning in, finally kissing Maine on the lips ... right in front of everyone else.
