Alden woke up the next day still feeling the impact of seeing Vanessa again. Everything came back to him, and he once again can't remove her from his thoughts.

The young guy looked at himself in the mirror, only to see how huge his eye bags are. "You're fucking ugly." he thought to himself before going to the bathroom.

He can no longer deny the fact that he missed Vanessa a lot. She was his anchor, she kept him in the good path. But ever since they broke up, things changed and Alden felt like he lost everything.

Alden genuinely thought Maine could fix everything but he's wrong. The more he tries to forget about Vanessa , the more he thinks about her.

A few minutes later, Alden got out of the room and looked at the calendar. "Thank God it's Saturday." he whispered before continuing his morning routine.

He went downstairs and looked around, there's sign of his parents. He approached one of the maids and asked her where could they be. After being informed that they left for a business meeting in China, Alden just sighed and started eating alone and quietly.

--

Maine woke up the next morning still a little pissed at Jake. She already told him they can only be friends but he ignored that. She sat up and started thinking of ideas on how she can make him stop.

"Come on let's eat." her Mom said as soon as she got out of her room.

Maine rubbed her eyes before sitting next to her sibling. She then checked her phone, only to see a text from Alden.

"Wanna hang out today?"

"I'm not sure if I could." she whispered before sending her reply. The young girl looked around and realized that her father is not around, and so she asked her mom about him.

"He went out early."

"To where?"

"To look for a new job."

"Mom, you know he wouldn't find any, right?"

"What am I supposed to do?" she asked Maine.

"I'm gonna find a way."

"You're not gonna find a job are you? You're supposed to be in school, Maine. There's no way in this world I'm going to let you work."

But Maine already made up her mind, she needs a part time job to help the family.

After getting Maine's reply saying she can't hang with him, Alden decided to go to Andrew's place instead. It took him about half an hour to reach his friend's house. He decided to call Andrew instead of knocking on their door. He can't afford to see Vanessa right now.

"Hey .. what are you doing for today?" he asked Andrew through the phone.

"My girl ..."

"What?"

"Nothing ... wait, I'll just get up."

"Okay, I'm right outside your house."

"What the fuck?" Andrew answered. The young guy then looked up and saw an open window at the left corner of the second story of the house. His friend's face then popped up and so he waved at him.

"Alright ... I'll be out. Damn you're early."

"Well I missed you." Alden teased,

"Shut up." Andrew replied and then the call ended. Alden got back to his car right before the gates opened. After pulling up on the driveway, he quickly saw Vanessa on their front door.

He tried his best to keep it together but he knows his front is quickly coming undone. Things became a lot worse when he saw a guy's hands on her hips.

"What the ..." that's all Alden can say. The two got onto a car and drove away. A few minutes later, Andrew came out and joined him.

"What took you long?" Alden asked.

"I had to take a quick shower. I smell bad."

"You always smell bad."

"Fuck you."

"Vanessa has a boyfriend, am I right?" he asked.

"What?"

"Does she have a new boyfriend?"

"Oh yeah."

"What's his name?"

"Riley ... Vanessa's boyfriend"

---

Maine returned to her room and literally threw herself at the bed.

"Why is this happening?" she asked herself before burying her face under the pillow. The young girl then remembered one effective technique to lessen the stress, and that is to think of happy thoughts.

"Happy thoughts ... happy thoughts." she whispered. Much to her surprise, the only happy thought that comes to her mind is the picture of a young guy.

"Alden?" Maine asked. The young girl can't help but smile at the thought and knew right at that moment that something had changed. Maine sat up and thought about the possibility that she may really have a crush on him.

"I think I have a crush on him .... oh my God."
