For a moment, Maine's entire world rotated in slow motion. The words he said made her feel things she shouldn't be feeling. Her heart fluttered. Her cheeks blushed. She's his queen. his ruler. His master. but all that changed when Vanessa gave him a hug and she saw the smile on his face. 

Her heart dropped and the smile on her face faded at the sight of them. She took a deep breath as Vanessa started heading her way. 

"Hello." 

"Ugh, what the hell do you want?" Maine asked. 

"Nothing actually .. I'm just greeting you guys ... can't you at least be nice?" 

"Oh we're fine .. you know ... the moment before you came." Hannah replied in a sarcastic tone. Maine clenched her fists, she can already tell that Vanessa is up to something. 

 "Oh was I talking to you?" Vanessa then asked her. 

"Now you're the one not being nice." Maine uttered before going straight in between Vanessa and Hannah. 

"You know what Maine? I gotta admit, when I first saw you I liked you. I thought you were sweet and smart but you proved me wrong"

"I don't care about your judgement Vanessa, I still know I'm a better person than you."

 "We'll see." Vanessa replied before walking away from them.

 "She's such a bitch" Hannah whispered.

"Couldn't agree more." Maine replied. A few moments after, Alden finally got to them.

"Hey guys!" the young guy greeted as soon as he got in front of them. 

 Hannah being the fangirl that she is, quickly hugged Alden. 

"You smell good." she told the young guy.

"Of course." he replied and then flashed that sexy grin of his. Hannah then excused herself from the two as she saw Jake leaving. 

 "So how's my lucky charm?" Alden asked before messing her hair. 

 "I'll be better if you stop messing with my hair." she snapped back and so he stop. 

 "Fine ... fine ... so where do we go now?"

 "What do you mean?" Maine asked. 

 "You lost ... I won .. remember?"

 "Oh yeah right .... but ..."

 "But what?" the young guy asked as they started walking towards the parking lot.

 "Parents might look for me."

 "They won't."

 "How did you know?"

 "Hannah already agreed on covering up for you."

 "What?" Maine asked just as her heart dropped. 

  "She already told them you're gonna sleep at their house."

 "Why would you do that? Do you mean she's in on all of this?"

 "I had to ... I knew you were gonna lose." Alden replied, smirking.
