The good thing about having a best friend is that you don't even have to talk. You can communicate with a look.
Kendra and I have gotten ourselves in and out of many situations with our mind conversations, and today won't be the last time.
Right now Kendra and I were hunched over in the girls bathroom, breathing heavily from the amount of running we did. David didn't notice it was us, and eventually gave up calling after us.
"That was a close one." Kendra breathed. "But we can't hide forever." I nodded my head. Then it hit me and I smiled.
"Maybe not hide, but we can switch our classes."
Kendra and I made our way to the office to speak with Mr. Jones about switching out of harmony.
"What?" He nearly yelled. "You are our best singers!"
"Yes, we understand but Mr. Jones we would like to take classes that further our education and harmony just isn't doing that for us." Kendra said.
"Girls, I would like to help you but I can't. I'm sorry. It's too late, class changes were the first two weeks."
"Please." I begged, my voice cracking. I didn't want to lose David over this. He shook his head.
"You're going to have to go back to class. Cheer up, sweetie. Winning the harmony competition will make it all worth while."
I knew it wouldn't. We win every year, and the money goes to the school. Usually we get a little bit of money and harmony gets to take a weekend vacation somewhere. Knowing David would be there too dampened my mood a lot.
Kendra grabbed my arm and we walked out of the office and back into the bathroom for the remaining few minutes of 1st period.

I didn't talk the rest of the day. I had received a few messages from David, obviously he didn't know I was in his class yet. Or that I was even a student here.
I walked into my last class feeling completely wrong. I should have told him my age, maybe then he wouldn't have been surprised. I knew as soon as he found out he's break whatever we were off. That thought alone sent me into a state of depression.
Study hall is simple. You just sit there and do nothing. Really it's nothing exciting. Not even a class, just a filler.
David came into the room in all his beautiful glory. He sat on the top of the desk and leaned back. He was so sexy.
"Alright..." He looked at a list in front of him. "Stella Adams..."
He read off the list of kids, which weren't many actually and I was in the close to the end since my last name started with a T.
"Madilyn Taylor..." he froze, staring at the paper. "That can't be right..." He whispered.
"Here." I said softly, raising my hand as slow as possible.
He didn't look up, just nodded and continued with the last few names. I knew exactly why too. It was the same reason I ran out of the room this morning.
He didn't want to believe that he was my teacher.

So Many Reasons
Romance"You're overthinking. I see those gears turning in that pretty little head of yours." I laughed at him and sighed. "There's so many reasons we can't be together, David." He nodded. "I know, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes." "Okay." I said...
