"I'm sorry baby." David said, wiping a stray tear that had fallen from my eyes. I gave him a small smile and shrugged.

"It's not your fault." I leaned against his chest and sighed. We were back in the dusty harmony storage room. Yeah, it was kind of big but that didn't mean I wanted to be in here.

I had driven to school but Melanie went home with her best friend and Kendra was with Danny so I stayed behind after study hall to tell David why I ignored him all Saturday night and Sunday. Poor guy thought he did something.

The funeral was Sunday evening and while it was a beautiful ceremony, I couldn't find it in me to enjoy it at all. But you're not really supposed to enjoy funerals, are you?

"Do you want to do Something tonight?" He questioned, smiling. "Maybe get your mind off things."

I nodded with a sigh, intertwining our hands and pulling away from his chest.

"Mom and dad wanted you to come over again anyways."

"Is it okay with them? I mean, I can imagine your moms pretty upset about it." He said softly.

"It'll be a good distraction for all of us." I said, walking out of the closet.

He nodded and I left his room and got in my car, waiting for him to get in his own. The parking lot was mostly empty, save for the few teachers who hate their home lives and stayed at school until the janitors forced them to go home.

I pulled out of the school parking lot and began the short drive home with David following close behind. I called mom and told her about David coming over and she actually sounded kind of excited.

David and I walked into the house, already hearing dad yelling at the T.V. David chuckled and we walked into the living room.

"Hey dad." I said, kissing his cheek. He smiled up at me and David. "Football?" I questioned. He nodded with a smirk.

"Which team do you like David?" Dad asked him. David smiled at the T.V.

"Skins fan, all the way."

Dad smiled and patted the spot next to him.

"I think you just earned your ticket into this family." Dad pat David on the back and I rolled my eyes, walking into the kitchen.

I pulled out some apple juice and a cup and poured myself a glass.

"How was school, sweetie?" Mom asked, walking into the kitchen.

"Good." I said. "Normal." Mom nodded and started pulling out things for dinner.

"How's David?" She asked with a smirk on her face.

"He's fine." I laughed, sipping my juice.

"Mhm, and his teaching job?"

"That's good too-" I stopped. "What?" I nearly yelled. Mom laughed.

"You think I didn't know?"

"Well...I- how?" I stuttered. How did she know?

"Well he's 23, You came in different cars, and he hasn't met Melanie yet." She's said, crossing her arms. "Melanie is your other half, she would have met him by now."

I stared at her. What if she told? No, mom wouldn't do that...

"I'm not going to tell, sweetie. Your father was my college professor and we lived together without even knowing." Mom rested her hand on my cheek. "I can see how much you like him baby. I also know you stayed with him after work that one day." She winked at me and I laughed.

"I'm sorry for lying, mama... I just didn't know if you would approve." I whispered. She smiled softly at me.

"Your dad knows too, I just didn't tell him you stayed together. He wouldn't have been too happy." She laughed again, causing me to do the same.

"What's for dinner tonight, beautiful?" Dad asked, walking into the kitchen with a smile, David following behind him. Dad kissed moms cheek and wrapped his arms around her waist, making her blush. I giggled and mom blushed even more.

David sat beside me on the bar stool and grabbed my hand under the bar.

"I was thinking of making spaghetti." She said.

"Can I help?" David asked and mom visibly swooned. Dad kissed mom and walked back into the living room. I stood up to follow dad but David quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me into his chest.

I smiled up at him and he leaned down to peck my lips softly. He let go of my hand and started to help mom make her spaghetti.

I knew I was in a lot of trouble with this guy. I could feel myself falling for him, and I was falling fast.
