Things were different now. Way different.
Well okay things weren't that much different but they felt different.
Understand? No? Me neither.
For the past week I've been on cloud 9. Kendra noticed the change immediately and squealed with joy for days after I told her the full story. Everyone knew I was now dating my 'mystery man' but no one knew who he really was.
I wanted to tell Jon so badly but I knew I couldn't. Everyone wanted to meet him and I know I should feel terrible for lying to all my friends but there's only one that makes me feel insanely guilty. He should know. He wouldn't judge me. He's my absolute best friend. He didn't judge me when I cut all my hair off in sixth grade, and let me tell you that was a bad choice.
"Jon!" I yelled from across the hall, seeing him walk into David's class. He kept walking so I did the only thing you can do to get a bulky guys attention when he has headphones in.
I jumped on him.
It wasn't a normal hop either, I spider monkey'd onto his back and clung for dear life when he knocked into the door and nearly fell forward.
"Jesus, girl, what have you been eating?" He yelled, dropping me off him. I felt to the ground with a thump and groaned.
"I gotta lot of booty." I shrugged with a half smile. He rolled his eyes and laughed at my position. I was still laying on the floor, sprawled like a spider monkey.
It was only a matter of time before David cleared his throat with a chuckle. "Madilyn, why are you on my floor?"
I shrugged, fanning myself out more.
"It's kinda uncomfortable. You should put carpet in." Jon helped me up and David's eyes narrowed for a second. When he saw Jon check him out realization dawned on him and he was back to normal.
"I'll consider it. Please take your seat Ms. Taylor we wouldn't want another detention, would we?"
I narrowed my eyes at him with a huff, taking my seat.
You'd think he'd be a little nicer to his girlfriend.
"So why did you tackle me like a coked up monkey?" Jon whispered when we sat down.
"You're coming over tonight." I stated, staring up front. He nodded and leaned back in his chair as David started his lesson.

"Alrighty" Kendra started. "The vow, neighbors, or..." She scanned the movies that were now spread across my bedroom floor. "The conjuring."
"The conjuring." I said immediately. Jon gave me a look and I sighed before explaining. "We watch the scary movie first, then the sad one, and finish with the comedy so we can sleep peacefully."
Jon nodded. "Good idea. I vote the conjuring too."
Kendra nodded and put the disc into the DVD player. She hopped onto the foot of the bed and crossed her arms in front of her.
"So what's going on with your mystery man?" Jon whispered, leaning his head on my shoulder as the movie started.
"Actually, I have to tell you something." I cautiously looked at him and he nodded, motioning for me to continue. "His name is David Parker."
He sat up and smiled at me.
"Yeah?" Then he laughed. "Wouldn't it be crazy if he was related to Mr. Parker?"
I mentally face palmed.
"He is Mr. Parker."
"What?" He shouted, eyes growing wide. Kendra shushed us and continued to watch the movie. She knew I was telling Jon so this reaction was suspected.
"Please don't tell!" I whisper-yelled. "I had no idea he was my teacher when I met him!"
He sat back and stared at me.
"You really like him."
I nodded and he sighed, running his hand over his face.
"I swear to god, Madi, if he hurts you-" I didn't even let him finish his sentence. I tackled him in a hug and smiled widely. He chuckled and hugged me back.
Jon proceeded to tell me about a hot guy he met a work while I shared stories of how David and I met.
I knew my best friend wouldn't judge me. He cares to much about my happiness.

So Many Reasons
Romance"You're overthinking. I see those gears turning in that pretty little head of yours." I laughed at him and sighed. "There's so many reasons we can't be together, David." He nodded. "I know, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes." "Okay." I said...
