"I was so high I did not recognize, The fire burning in her eyes, The chaos that controlled my mind, Whispered goodbye and she got on a plane, Never to return again, But always in my heart..." I sang loudly, dancing around my room. Kendra was laying on my bed, reading a magazine and laughing at me every few minutes.
"This love has taken its toll on me, She said Goodbye too many times before, And her heart is breaking in front of me, I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore!"
"Someone's happy." Mom said, sitting on my bed next to Kendra. Kendra nodded.
"She woke me up like this." Kendra replied flatly.
"This can't be because you're 18, can it?" Mom joked and I laughed, plopping down on my swivel chair.
"Or because now you don't have to hide a certain someone?" Kendra played along with mom, waggling her eyebrows.
I pointed a finger at her. "He's still my teacher."
Kendra rolled her eyes and said "only for another month" before going back to her magazine.
"Just be careful, baby." Mom said, coming to pet my hair. I smiled up at my mom and nodded. "It's a little late for that one." She nodded her head towards Kendra and Kendra faked offense.
"Hey now, leave baby alone." She put her hand on her growing belly. Within the past two months she's gained a very small baby bump, small enough to hide but big enough to see if you knew what you were searching for. She was four months and two weeks along now, and her excitement grew along with her belly. Her parents weren't happy about it, but did nothing drastic like kick her out, or disown her.
My parents were wary at first but their excitement was growing as well as Kendra's- just at a slower pace. Dad was very wary, always making sure to give Danny a dirty look and a threat before he left our house. Dad stayed away from David for the most part but the threat there was silent and deadly.
Mom kissed Kendra's forehead and smiled down at her.
"I'm not picking on baby." She said, touching her belly. Mom gave me one last kiss and went to the door.
"Birthday pancakes are downstairs, sweetie." Mom left the room with that, immediately making me excited for her pancakes.
"You're staying with David tonight, right?" Kendra asked and I nodded, going to my closet and pulling out some clothes.
"Are you two going to...?" She trailed off, I turned around to see her waggling her eyebrows at me.
"Kendra!" I scolded with a laugh. "Not everyone is a horndog like you." I said, pulling out a pretty white dress. There was a brown belt that went around the waist and I would wear it with brown flats. I laid it on my bed and plugged in my straightener.
"You've been together eight months." She said It Like that was too long to not have sex. I rolled my eyes. "Besides, I've heard you two before, Danny and I aren't the only loud ones." Kendra winked at me and I blushed fiercely, deciding to start on my hair.
"I don't know." I said finally. "It depends on him I guess. He's weird about that sort of thing."
"Because it's your first time? Or because you were 17?" She asked, sitting up straighter and staring at me through my vanity mirror.
"Because he's my teacher." I said.
"But it's your birthday, and nothing's better than birthday-"
"I wouldn't finish that sentence, dads right behind me." Mel interrupted, coming in my room and sitting on my swivel chair.
"What's going on girls?" Dad said, coming into the room also. "Happy birthday, baby." Dad kissed my forehead and I smiled.
"So what are your big birthday plans?" Dad asked, leaning against my doorframe.
"Hanging out with you guys for a bit, going out with Kendra, and then we're going out with the guys." I left out that I was staying with David. Dad knew now but I still wasn't comfortable saying it to him.
"Sounds good, I'll be downstairs." Dad said, leaving my room, content with my plans for the day.
"What are you going to where?" Mel asked and I pointed to my dress before finishing my hair. She shook her head. "I mean tonight." She said.
I stared at her with my mouth open.
"You need to stop talking to her." I pointed to Kendra and Kendra rolled her eyes. "But I didn't know I had to dress up." I said seriously, causing them both to stare at me like I was stupid. Mel quickly shut and locked my door and Kendra ran to my dresser, searching through my underwear drawer.
"Found one, thank god for my Christmas presents you never wear." Kendra said, throwing fabric on my bed. I looked at it and shook my head.
It was white lacy panties with a laced braced push up bra to match.
"Why not?" They both asked.
I shrugged, holding the fabric in my hands. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
Eventually I gave in, going into my bathroom to change into my birthday outfit. Then, after doing my makeup to perfection, I went downstairs to start my day with birthday pancakes.
I was nervous about tonight, but I loved David with all my heart and nothing was going to change my mind.

So Many Reasons
Romance"You're overthinking. I see those gears turning in that pretty little head of yours." I laughed at him and sighed. "There's so many reasons we can't be together, David." He nodded. "I know, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes." "Okay." I said...
