"Is this... my mother?" I asked in shock.

"Yes."

"What happened?"

"There was a break in where she lived. She was the only one home, and the intruders killed her. Not much is known."

"You sound like you know something though."

"I do. I was on the case as her husband's lawyer, your biological father."

"Is he still alive?"

"Yes, He's a good friend of mine, but it never crossed my mind that he could be your father."

I was looking at my mother's headstone the entire time we spoke, but I felt like I was going to cry my eyes out. I turned away and sprinted to my adopted dad, and buried my face in his shoulder to muffle my crying.

"Thank you, dad." I said between sobs.

"You're welcome sweet heart. Are you ok?" he replied.

"Yea. I just wish I was able to meet her."

"Why don't we continue finding your family in the morning?"

"Ok."
