When I saw the single word on the plaque, I panicked then filled with rage. I pounded as hard as I could with only one arm, but with the stupid band on my wrist and cap on my shoulder that door wasn't going to budge. I could hardly hear anything behind the door, but I had a terrible feeling it wasn't good. Izzy and Will caught up and saw the plaque and froze.

"Iz, freeze the band and cap off." I said.

"Jess. I don't....... I still have the bands on my wrists too." Izzy started.

"Iz, just do it." I said.

Izzy didn't argue anymore, she laid one hand on my shoulder and one on my wrist. She concentrated for a minute and the band and cap instantly froze, even with the bands on her wrists. I could feel the fire inside regain its strength. My fire erupted from my shoulder, and everyone except, Will and Izzy, in the hallway backed away. I pounded my knuckles into the door again. My fire surged into the door, and it melted. My arm extinguished itself as I stormed into the room to find Tess and Jem strapped to chairs in the center of the room, but they were alone and there was nothing in the room except the chairs and them.

"Amazing." I heard a voice but didn't see the body it belonged to. It sounded feminine, so I guessed it was a woman.

I didn't care about the person talking to me I was focused on my siblings. Using my fire, I broke the restraints that were holding them to the chairs. Izzy and Will came into the room after me. The bands on their wrists were gone. With Tess and Jem freed from the chairs, Izzy froze their wrist bands off. I heard a door close behind us, and I swung around to see a woman standing in front of a new door with dad standing next to her.

"Dad? Dad please what's going on?" I pleaded.

"He doesn't know you. It's a waste of your time to try to get him to notice you." She replied.

"Shut your mouth, Amelia. We don't care what you have to say." Tess said.

"I bet you care that it involves your family." She replied.

My body tensed at the mention of my family. The only other thing that was on my mind was that this was Amelia, the person trying to destroy the one thing I've dreamed about all my life, family. I didn't have anything to say to her, so all I did was glare at her. My glare didn't waiver, and neither did Amelia's. We stood there not saying a word for a few minutes. She finally broke the silence.

"That was an excellent demonstration of your bending, Jessamine." She said.

"Was that what this whole thing was about? A test!" I yelled.

My anger was showing, and I couldn't hide it any longer. My fire erupted from my shoulder reacting with my anger. The heat from my arm must have been pretty intense because Izzy, Tess, Jem, and Will all backed up. The temperature in the room started to rise fast, but I didn't seem to notice. My anger was so intense that my fire was overheating and radiating from my body, heating the room at a rapid rate. The heat in the room became visible as a red-orange mist appeared. Suddenly the mist was being absorbed back into me. As the mist disappeared, my irises went red-orange and my pupils lit with fire. Amelia seemed satisfied about something and left the room with dad and closed the door behind her.
