The Boy Next Door

vidcon day one

I'm being bounced up and down, my body is being held tightly to something. Now I'm being... Lowered down?! I don't know what's happening. I wake up with a start. My eyes are wide open and I look up, alarmed. Caleb's carrying me into my room, and now he's standing at the edge of my bed, about to put me down. I must have still been asleep when the movie ended.

"Oh, Ebony! You're awake."

"Barely," I mumble.

"Uh, I'm sorry for like... Carrying you. It's just you fell asleep, and you looked so peaceful and I didn't want to wake you up and I-"

"I love you, Caleb Logan."

"And I love you, Ebony Rose." He pulls back the covers with his free hand and puts me down, then tuck me in.

"Goodnight Cae," I say.

"Goodnight Eb," he says.

I wake up to the sun from the huge window blinding me. I squint, and reach to the bedside tale from my phone. It's 7:00. We're leaving at 7:45 for VidCon, and meeting outside our rooms at 7:40. I straighten my hair and put on my flowy white shirt, maroon high waisted shorts, and my converse. Then I do my makeup a little bit fancier than I normally would, with a touch of gold eye shadow and black eyeliner with little wings. I decide to wear glasses today, because I like the look of them with my converse. Then I check myself on the back of the bathroom mirror and I look pretty good. Then I grab my wallet, and purple pass that goes around my neck. Katie changed the name printed on it from "Billy LeBlanc (Bratayley)" to "Ebony Shields (Bratayley)" I really like that it says I'm from Bratayley. I walk out and see the LeBlanc family waiting for me. Caleb's wearing jeans, and a shirt from American Eagle. He looks so cute. When he see's me he smiles, and hugs me. I reach up to him and fix his bangs, which are falling into his eyes a bit.

"You look beautiful," he says.

"And you look adorable," I say. He kisses me, and I say hi to Annie, Hayley, and Katie, who's vlogging.

"This is Ebony's very first VidCon!" She says.

I turn around to face the camera as we're walking to the elevator, "and I'm super excited!"

"VidCon is lot's of fun, Ebony." Says Annie.

"YEAH! And this year, we get our very own BOOTH!" Shouts Hayley.

"Wow, I don't honestly know what that means, but I'm impressed."

"It means, we get to have the spinner at our own booth!"

"What?"

"Well last year, I was at the famous birthdays booth, and there was this spinner. It said things like t-shirt, picture, and bracelet, and they won what they spun. This year we don't need to schedule times with a booth, because we get our own. It'll be so cool, you'll see." Says Caleb.

"Wow, it sounds like so much fun!" I say.

"Oh yeah, and wear some of these!" He says, handing me a bunch of blue rubber bracelets that say Bratayley on them.

"Cool!"

"Let's go guys! We can grab some breakfast to eat while we're walking there." Says Katie. We go down the the lobby, and get breakfast bars that taste like peanut butter and chocolate. Soon we're on our way to VidCon.

"How far is it?" I ask.

"Right there!" Says Caleb, pointing across the street a few buildings down. There's a huge sign that says VidCon, and there is a huge line of people that comes out the door. Caleb grabs my hand, and pulls me into him, like he doesn't want to lose me in the sea of people. He wraps his arm tightly around my shoulder, and I wrap mine tightly around his torso. "We'll be in the VIP line, because we were invited to come, and we didn't need to pay. I look, and see the VIP sign is on the other side of the line. We walk up to the crowd, and they automatically begin cheering. Tons of people whip out their phones and begin taking pictures of us.
