I laughed a little as Geoff threw a pea at Harry and took a small bite of my chicken, watching everyone at the table. After my little breakdown, nobody said anything about it. We just went on as if everything was completely normal. Which I was grateful for. As dinner ended, I helped take plates to the kitchen and sat at the counter again. I finally stood up and walked up behind Karen, wrapping my arms around her.
"I'm sorry." I said quietly and she sighed, turning around to pull me into a proper hug.
"Don't apologize, bub." She whispered, petting my hair and I held onto her for dear life.
"Guys, the countdown is starting soon!" Someone shouted from the living room and I detached myself from Karen, moving to Anne.
"I miss him too." She whispered in my ear and I nodded against her shoulder.
"Sam, could I borrow you for a minute?" I heard Liam ask and I pulled away from the hug, turning around.
I followed him upstairs after grabbing my beer and he led me to the library room. Liam shut the door behind us and we walked over to the large window, leaning against the railing. I took a drink of my beer and Liam let out a sigh.
"You good?" He asked quietly after a while and I nodded, looking over at him. "Can I tell you something?"
"Yeah." I answered.
"That night at the party, there was a reason I went into the bathroom with Adriana." I hummed in question and cocked an eyebrow. "I was scared."
"Of what?" I mumbled against the rim of my beer.
"How I felt after we kissed." I think my heart stopped when he said that.
"What do you mean?" I asked and heard everyone downstairs start the countdown from thirty.
"I ran away because I felt something that I shouldn't feel for my best friend." I let out a breath. "It's what I felt when we were fifteen and what I've felt for the past five years. I tried to push them aside because you're my best friend, Sam, and I don't want to ruin us. I just, I can't keep it inside anymore."
"Li," My voice faltered.
"I want us to be more than friends." He admitted and I heard blowers go off downstairs, indicating that it was midnight.
Before Liam could say anything, I leaned forward and pressed my lips to his. His arms immediately wrapped around my waist and I let my fingers slip through his short hair. He deepened the kiss and pulled me closer, if that was even possible. Liam backed me up against the wall and his hands traveled to my face, his thumbs moving across my cheeks. I held onto his torso, gripping the fabric of his sweater.
"Happy New Year." Liam whispered, pulling away to rest his forehead against mine. "God, I love you, Sam."
"I love you too, Li." I mumbled, a smile making it's way to my face.
He kissed me again and we stumbled over to the couch that was in the room. He fell on top of me and I draped my arms over his shoulders as he balanced himself on his forearms. Our lower bodies were pressed together and I let out a shaky breath against his lips when he grinded down onto me. Liam slipped his tongue into my mouth and nudged his knee between my legs to lay down more comfortably against my body.
"Li," I let out a shaky breath when he ran a hand up my sweater.
"Shh, wouldn't want anyone downstairs to hear anything." He smirked and I smiled a little, reaching up grab the hem of his shirt.
I tugged it over his head and he leaned down, pressing his lips to my neck. He sucked on a spot behind my ear and I moaned quietly, holding onto his shoulders when he tugged at the hem of my sweater. I gave him a nod of reassurance and he pulled it off, the cold air chilling my skin. Liam pressed his bare chest to my bra covered one, warming me up, and I fumbled with his belt buckle. I finally got it undone and I shoved his jeans down, letting him kick them off.
"You sure about this?" Liam breathed out, toying with the band of my leggings and I nodded, taking a deep breath as he yanked them down.
I thanked the stars that I wore my good bra and underwear and kissed Liam again, trying to ease my nerves. I arched my back as he fumbled with the clasp on my bra and he got it undone, tossing the bra to the floor. His large hands immediately latched to my breasts and I moaned into his mouth, bucking my hips up to his.
"Liam," I breathed out as he ground his hips into mine, rolling his pelvic bone to my core.
"Shh, I've got you." He whispered, smirking a little, and I reached up to tug his boxers off.
He pulled off my underwear and I felt a blush rise to my cheeks. He hasn't seen me bare since were fifteen and a lot has happened since them. Liam smiled and kissed me, a hand drifting down to my most sensitive area. He slipped a finger inside of me making my mouth fall open against his. He pushed in and out and before I could finish, he pulled away and reached onto the floor, coming back with a condom.
I grabbed it out of his hands and ripped the foil open, pulling the condom out. I rolled it onto Liam's hard length, making him groan. He pumped himself a couple times before lining up with my entrance. I quietly moaned when he slowly pushed into me, stretching me to my brim. I forgot how big he was. Liam moaned against my shoulder and pushed in and out, creating a steady rhythm.
"Wanted to do this for so long." Liam grunted with each thrust and I moaned, nodding in agreement.
"It's always been you." I breathed out and he smiled, kissing me.
I wrapped a leg around his hip and he groaned at the new position. Liam trailed his lips down my neck, his arm muscles straining next to my head. He reached under my back, pulling me closer and I leaned my head onto the arm of the couch. My skin stuck to the leather of the couch but I could care less because of what was on top of me. Liam's thrusts got quicker and I knew he was close to finishing, like me.
"Fuck, Sam." He moaned and I smiled a little. Damn, I could get used to this.
