"Well, look who finally woke up." Karen teased as I walked into the kitchen, stretching out my sore muscles. Sleeping on the couch is really not a good idea. "Where did you two disappear to last night?" She wondered as Liam came up beside me.
"Just hung out in the library." He answered and I nodded.
"You can see the whole town from the window in there." I expanded our story and walked over to pour myself some coffee.
I grabbed a mug from the cabinet and took a few short steps to the coffee pot that sat against the wall. I poured my mug full and grabbed some sugar, putting a couple spoonful's in. As I was stirring the sugar in, Liam came up behind me to grab a mug. His crotch pressed into my lower back and I gasped a little as his lips brushed against the shell of my ear.
"Where's everyone else?" I asked Karen after regaining my composure.
"Geoff took Harry and Justin snowboarding and Gemma, Emily and Anne are waiting on me outside to go to the shopping center. Do you wanna come?" She asked, grabbing her purse.
"Oh, no. I'll just hang out here." I answered with a smile.
"Alright, have fun you two." Liam said goodbye to his mum as she walked out the door and as soon as their car drove off, he turned to me with a smirk.
"Well, now that we are alone, what shall we do?" Liam smirked, walking over and wrapping his arms around me. I smiled and shrugged, happy to be doing anything with him.
"I don't care." He smiled and I took a sip of my coffee.
"Let's go ice skating." I quirked an eyebrow at his suggestion. Liam hates ice skating.
"You hate ice skating." I said and he shrugged.
"Well, you like it. That's good enough reason for me to do it." I smiled a little and leaned up to give him a kiss. "Ew, you have coffee breath." He wrinkled his nose and I laughed, wriggling myself out of his arms.
"Meet you back down here in fifteen?" I asked and he nodded, following me up the stairs.
I went into my room and shut the door, going to the closet. I changed out of my pajamas and put on a new pair of underwear, grabbing some leggings. I doubled up on them, seeing as it was so cold outside, and pulled on a long sleeve t-shirt. I yanked an oversized sweater over my head and stepped into a pair of thick socks. I put on my boots and grabbed a coat and scarf, along with gloves and a beanie. I let my hair down and brushed through it, pulling on the hat.
I walked downstairs after grabbing my phone and sat at the counter, finishing my coffee. Liam came bounding down the stairs and he kissed my cheek before tugging me up from the chair. I followed him to the car and laughed as he bowed, opening my door. I got in the car, watching him jog around to the drivers side, and he pulled out of the garage. We sat in a comfortable silence as he drove to the ice rink. We finally got there after a short drive and got out, putting on our gloves and coats.
"Two please." Liam said to the guy in the little booth who seemed to be freezing his butt off.
Liam told the guy our shoe sizes and we traded in our boots for the blue skates. We found a bench and sat down, strapping on the ice skates. I suddenly became a little nervous. I haven't skated in years. Not since my mum left.
"Ready?" Liam asked and I nodded, breaking away from my thoughts.
Liam grabbed my hand as we walked over to the rink, him cautiously stepping on. I laughed a little as he almost fell as soon as he set foot on the ice. Liam balanced himself and held onto the edge as we went around the empty rink. I slowly skated next to him and we stayed quiet, him trying to concentrate on not falling.
"You okay?" Liam asked and I nodded, shoving my hands in the pockets of my coat. "You're an awful liar, Sammy." He laughed and I slightly smiled. "What's wrong?"
"I haven't skated since my mum left." I said quietly, looking over at him. Liam frowned and stopped skating.
"Oh my god, I'm sorry. I completely forgot. If I had known, I wouldn't have brought you." He rambled and I cut him off with a kiss.
"It's fine. I like skating with you." I smiled and he smiled back, pecking my lips once more. "Now, hold my hand and I will take you around the rink."
Liam did as I said and grabbed my outstretched hand, hesitantly letting go of the wall. I turned to face him and held onto both of his hands, beginning to skate backwards. Liam offered a shaky smile and followed me, trying to get him movements right. I laughed as he bent over, his butt sticking up, and his face in concentration. Suddenly his eyes widened as he lost his balance and fell over, his legs wiping me out from underneath.
"Fuck," I groaned as I landed, my wrist making hard contact with the ice.
"Shit, I'm sorry." Liam apologized and stood up, reaching down to pull me up. I winced at the pain in my wrist and held it to my chest, tears filling my eyes. "Oh god, are you okay?"
"My wrist fucking hurts." I spoke through clenched teeth and he gently grabbed my arm, sliding my sleeves up.
"That looks really bad." He cringed and slid my sleeves back down, leading us to the entrance of the rink.
Liam helped me to a bench and he sat me down, getting down on one knee to take my skates off. He untied them and went to get our boots, helping me to step into them. He took off his own skates, almost falling, and put on his boots, returning the skates to the guy. Liam ushered me to the car and buckled my seat belt for me. He got in the drivers side and began driving into town.
"Liam, I'm fine. Let's just go back to the cabin." I sighed as he parked in the parking lot of the immediate care center.
"Sam your wrist was almost purple. You need it checked out." He said, sternly, and I just sighed, following him inside.
