Chapter 3

Sunday, May 19th

"Alright sweet girl, let's see what we've got in these for you."

Maks started to pull out the first item and Adalyn's eyes went wide. Maks paused and looked at Meryl. She had tears in her eyes and he knew why. Adalyn had come so far in just a few hours.

"Alright. The first thing is some special cups just for you. I think you'll know who is on each cup. Let's see. Who is on this one?"

"Sofia!"

"Right. How about this one?"

""Doc!"

"Good Meryl will know who is on this one."

"Princesses!" Adalyn says with a gasp.

"Do you like then Adalyn?"

"Yes!"

Meryl looked on with amazement. They had both come so far. She sat back and put a hand on her belly.

"Let's see what else we've got. Hm... oh look at this! Do you know what this is? Do you know what this is?"

Adalyn looks at the object in his hand. She has a confused look. Maks doesn't know it but it is the same face he makes when he is confused. The next thing she did took both Meryl and Maks by surprise. She reached up and started pulling at her hair. They looked at each other in shock. Meryl couldn't help but let out a little giggle.

"I'll help you out sweet girl. This is a night light. It plugs into the wall in your bedroom. It will make it not so dark at night. There is something special to go with this." Maks grabs the big bag and pulls out a bed set. It is a princess theme bed set to go along with the princess crown night light. Meryl was shocked and Adalyn was bouncing with excitement again.

"Princess bed!"

"Oh I'm so glad you like it. There is also a nice blanket in this bag as well as another special thing. Do you want to pull them out?"

Adalyn didn't even answer. She just reached into the bag. She pilled out a pink and purple soft and fuzzy blanket. She pulled it close, hugging it with a smile. She then laid the blanket in her lap and reached back into the bag. She pulled out a stuffed animal and gasped.

"Lambie!"

Meryl loved her excitement but is confused because she has no clue who Lambie is. She gives Maks a look and he says

"Lambie is from the Doc McStuffins show right Adalyn?"

She shakes her head yes and squeezes Lambie.

"Now this bag is special. It has somethings for you that you can wear. Let's see. First, I found you some new underwear. They have all different kinds of Disney characters on them. And these are your new special pajamas." The pajama shirt has a sleeping puppy on it and the shorts have more dogs on them.

"I love puppies" Meryl says. "Do you?"

"Yes" Adalyn says excitedly.

"I also found this really special outfit for you." Adalyn gasped and smiled so big. He had picked out a pink and white chevron dress. The straps, collar, and extra layer at the bottom of the dress are green and white stripped. On the right side of the dress was a cute frog and flower. There is also a pink bow with white polka dots on the left strap. It is going to look so precious on her.
