Chapter 16

Thursday July 4th

"Mer, what do you want me to do?" Maks asks.

"Just keep Adalyn busy. The food is out and ready, my parents are setting up outside. Clay is picking up fireworks. Everyone else will be here around 3:30 or 4.

"Shouldn't we put her down for a nap then?"

"I guess we should. Why don't you go find her?" Meryl says.

"Ok. I'll be back."

Meryl is in their room getting the things ready for the gender reveal. She made a poster that says "Tie or Bow. What will it be?" She has paper bows and ties for everyone to put on the poster under their predictions. There are also chocolate bars with a wrapper on them that reads "What Will Baby Be? A HE or A SHE?" HE is colored blue and SHE is colored pink. There is a sign to go with the bars that says "Please take one but don't open it until we tell you." There is also jars of pink and clue candies to go on the table. The gender reveal table is going to be covered half with blue table cloth and half in pink. There are pink and blue balloons for the table as well.

To reveal the gender, they will have everyone open their chocolate bars. It is a Hersey bar and the letters SHE will be colored in pink.

To reveal their name, Meryl made t-shirts with everyone's first and middle names on them. So Maks' shirt says Maksim Aleksandrovich and Meryl's says Meryl Elizabeth. Adalyn's says Adalyn Liliya and the onesie for Brynlee says Brynlee Sofiya.

Meryl was just finishing up making sure everything is ready when Maks comes back in.

"I found her."

"Where was she?" Meryl asks.

"Already asleep in her bed. I guess she was tired."

"I guess she was. Let's get this stuff set up and then come rest. Ok?"

"Whatever you want" Maks says with a smirk.

"Ok. Let's go. I'm ready for a good cuddle."

They carried everything down and set everything up. She stands back and admires the table. It is perfect. She is so proud of herself.

"Mer, it's perfect. You did a wonderful job."

"Thank you. Now let's go lay down. I'm tired and want to cuddle my Teddy Bear."

"Meryl, Princess?"

"Hmm? What?"

"It's time to get up. Everyone will be here soon."

"I don't want to get up. I want to sleep longer."

"Mer, we can't. We are hosting this party and don't you want to tell everyone about our little..." He puts his mouth to her ear and whispers "Daughter."

"I do put just not yet. I need a few more minutes."

"I'll go get Adalyn and her outfit and come back in. You've got that long Princess" he says and gives her a kiss. He makes his way to Adalyn's room. He opens the door and finds Adalyn dancing around her room. "Look at you, beautiful."

"I'm dancing Papa."

"I see that. You dance beautifully."

"Dance with me."

"We can't right now. We have to go get Mama. Everyone will be coming soon."

"Oh, let's go!"

"We have to grab your outfit and then go wake Mama."
