Chapter 33

"Mama, why am I taking a nap?"

"Because you get to stay up late tonight to celebrate the last day of the year. This sure is a year to celebrate."

"Why?"

"A lot of great things have happened this year."

"Like what?"

"Well, Papa and I got married, then we met you and you came to live with us. Then Brynlee is born. Then Tetya Jenna won DWTS. Aunt Jenna had Quentin and now Tetya Jenna and Dyadya Val are pregnant"

"I'm so happy I am to live with you and Papa, Mama."

"I am too Adalyn. I love you very much. Now give me a kiss. It's nap time." Adalyn sits up and kisses Meryl.

"Mama, can you put on my CD on?" She usually only uses it at night most days.

"Of course. Have a good nap milaya devushka." Meryl turns on the VD and then leaves the room. She goes downstairs where Maks is on the couch watching TV. Brynlee is asleep in her swing. Meryl joins him on the couch. Just as she cuddles into him, her phone rings. She lets out a little laugh, sits up, and grabs her phone. It's Kym calling.

"Hi Kym!"

"Meryl, hi! How are you?"

"I'm good. How are you?"

"I'm doing alright." Kym is pregnant and still in her first trimester.

"A lot of morning sickness still?"

"Yea. And nausea throughout the day. But that's not what I called about. Robert and I are going to Michigan on the 2nd through the 9th. He has business to do. I know it's last minute but would you guys like to fly with us? I know Charlie and Tanith just had their baby and you haven't gotten to meet him so we'd thought we'd ask."

"Oh my goodness. That would be awesome! Let me ask Maks."

"Of course. I'll hold." Meryl pulls the phone off of her ear.

"Maks, Robert and Kym are flying to Michigan on the 2nd and they want to know if we want to come with them. I want to but do you have anything that would keep us from going?"

"No I don't have anything. I kept next week free. We are good to go."

"Yay!! Thank you!" She kisses him before putting her phone back to her ear. "Kym?"

"I'm here."

"Great. We would love to come. Thank you so much for inviting us."

"Oh I'm so excited! I'll have Robert text you the information. Oh I'll finally get to meet your new little!"

"Thank you! Do you guys have plans for tonight?"

"Nom we are just going to have at home."

"Well if you want, you are welcome here. Val, Jenna, Paul, and Sharna are coming over. You know, all of us who have kids or are pregnant so we can't drink are coming." Sharna is also pregnant. She is 30 weeks.

"Oh sounds fun! I'll ask Robert and text you. He went to pick Chinese food since I was craving it."

"Sounds good" she says with a laugh. "I'll talk to you soon. Thank you again allowing us to come with you to Michigan.

"Of course. Talk to you soon. Bye."

"Bye." Meryl hangs up and then looks up to Maks with a smile.
