Chapter 17

Tuesday, July 16th- Wednesday, July 17th

"Mama, where are we going?"

"We are going to New York to go on the TV. Remember? We are going to show our name shirts and share Brynlee's name."

"Oh right. I remember now."

Meryl, Maks, and Adalyn are on their way to the airport to fly to New York. They are flying in today, July 16. The next day, they have their interview in the morning with GMA. They are getting interviewed by Robin Roberts again. After the interview, they will spend time around New York before catching a flight home.

After they park their car at the airport, they head in. Maks has Adalyn's car seat balanced on the big luggage they are bringing with them. They don't need a lot so one bag is fine. Meryl is holding Adalyn's hand. In Adalyn's other hand is Lambie and Hallie. They go everywhere with her.

They make it through security without a problem. They can tell people notice them but on one comes up to them, which they are very thankful for. While sitting at the gate for their plane, Meryl can tell Maks is worried about something. She reaches over and takes his hand in hers. He gives her a weak smile.

"What's wrong Maks?"

"I don't know. I just... what if people don't like her name?"

"Then they don't like it. There will always be people who don't like a name, or anything really. You like the name right?"

"I love her name."

"And I do too, as well as Adalyn. That's all that matter. No one else has to like it."

"You're right Princess. Thank you" he says and kisses her.

"Oh I think our malyutka knows we are talking about her. She just kicked me. Oh there she goes again. Here, put your hand right here. Malyutka, show Papa how strong you are." They feel the kick and Maks gasps.

"Meryl, that was amazing. Adalyn... Adalyn" Maks says taping her. She is watching a show on Meryl's iPad. Adalyn looks at Maks.

"Da Papa?"

"Pause your show. Your sister is kicking Mama. Come feel."

Adalyn quickly pauses the show, putting the iPad on her seat, and rushes over to Meryl. Meryl grabs her hand and puts Adalyn's hand on her belly.

"Malyutka, show your big sister how strong you are. She loves you so much."

Adalyn feels the kick and her face lights up. She looks up at Maks and Meryl with the biggest and sweetest smile.

"That was so cool! Papa, what does malyutka mean?"

"Oh. It means little one. It is the nickname we have been calling your sister. It's like how we call you milaya devushka, which means sweet girl."

"Oh ok. Hi malyutka. I love you."

Meryl looks at Adalyn with tears in her eyes. Adalyn gives Meryl a hug and then goes back to her seat to watch her show. Meryl leans into Maks. Meryl doesn't know it yet but Maks had taken a picture of Adalyn's hand on Meryl's on Meryl's belly with Meryl's hand on top of Adalyn's. Meryl is looking down at Adalyn with the sweetest smile and the look of total love. Adalyn is looking down at Meryl's belly with the same look Meryl has. It is the sweetest picture. He is the happiest guy in the world.

Soon it is time to board the plane. Maks puts Adalyn's seat next to the window. Meryl is in the middle and Maks is in aisle seat. The whole flight is peaceful. Adalyn is so good on flights.
