Chapter 18

Friday, August 22nd

"Maks, come on! It's time to head to the rehearsal dinner. Adalyn, come on milaya devushka."

"Mer, where is my outfit?"

"It's in the car already. All of our outfits are."

"Ok. Thanks Princess."

"Adalyn" Meryl yells louder this time. They both listen but they didn't hear anything. "I'll go find her"

IT is 12:30. They have already had lunch and Adalyn had gone up to her room to play until it is time to go. Meryl walks into Adalyn's room and laughs. Now she knows why Adalyn hadn't responded when she called for her. Adalyn is sound asleep in bed. Meryl thought about picking Adalyn up but she knows Maks will freak out if she does. She just grabs Lambie and Hallie and goes to get Maks. He is already out in the car.

"Where is Adalyn, Princess?"

"She is asleep in bed. I didn't carry her down because I knew you would freak out. Can you go get her please?"

"Of course" he says kissing her. "I'll be right back."

Meryl check the car to make sure they have everything they need for tonight. Maks' wedding outfit is on one hook of the car and Meryl and Adalyn's outfits for tonight are on another. The bridesmaids and the Moms are staying at Meryl and Maks' tonight while the groomsmen and Dad's are staying at Val and Jenna's. They also have a bag full of things to keep Adalyn busy during set up.

"Mer, can you grab her blanket so I can put her in her seat?"

Meryl grabs the blanket. He had brought down her pink fuzzy blanket. Maks buckles Adalyn in and turns his attention to Meryl.

"You ready to go Princess?"

"Yes. Let's go."

Maks pulls up to the center where the rehearsal is going to be tonight. They are going to help set up. Meryl is asleep with her head on the window and Adalyn is still asleep in her car seat. Maks decides to carry Adalyn in first. Meryl doesn't even stir when he gets out.

Inside the rehearsal space, Maks lays Adalyn down on a couch and goes back out to get Meryl. He carries her in bridal carry. He puts her on the other couch and goes back to carry in all of their things. When he comes back in, Val and Jenna are standing in the room talking.

"Hey you too! Ready for the next two days?"

"I think so" Jenna says hugging Val and smiling up at him.

"I can't wait until we are married. I want to go to Hawaii so we can..."

"Whoa, I don't want to hear about it! What do you want me to do?"

"How about you two go bring in things from the car? There is a lot to bring in and I know neither of you will let me carry anything."

Maks and Val smirk at each other and turn to go to car. Jenna sits on the couch with Adalyn and relaxes. Meryl wakes up a few minutes later.

"Hi Jenna."

"Oh hi Mer. Sleep well?"

"Yes. Are you ready for the next two days?"

"I'm ready to get married, that's for sure."

"Married life sure is great."

"And we'll finally be able to be more loving in public now. Just wait until DWTS starts again. It will be so different."
