Meryl, Maks, Larissa, Sasha, and Sofiya are relaxing in the living room watching a movie, when they hear a knock on the front door. The door opens and in walk Teddy and Nicole.
"Hi! Sorry Ilya had to stay home for work" Nicole says rushing into the room right over to Meryl. Meryl stands and they share a hug. They have become great friends. Teddy pulls Maks into a hug and then Meryl.
"Where is the little one?" Teddy asks.
"She is napping upstairs. She'll probably wake up soon" Meryl says looking at the clock.
"I'll go check on her" Maks says standing up. "She might be scared to get up since we aren't home and she doesn't know this place yet."
"Oh good thinking Maks" Meryl says.
Maks goes up to the room Adalyn is napping in. He slowly opens the door and looks to see if she is awake. He can't see her face so she walks in the room further. He sees her bright blue eyes open staring at the wall.
"Milaya devushka?"
Adalyn jumps a little but turns to look at Maks. She has the sweetest smile on her face. He goes over and sits on the bed next to Adalyn. He pushes some hair off her face and smiles at her.
"Are you ready to get up milaya devushka?"
She nods gently at him and sits up. He scoops her up into his lap.
"Where is Mama?"
"She is downstairs with Babushka, Dedushka, Prababushka Sofiya and our friends Nicole and Teddy who came just a little bit ago. Should we go down and say hi and see Mama?"
"Da" she says quietly. Maks could tell she isn't confident. Adalyn goes to the bathroom and then Maks carries her downstairs and then join Meryl and Nicole on the couch.
"Did you have a good nap milaya devushka?" Meryl asks and gives her a gentle kiss.
"Da."
"Good. I'm so glad. You are going to need energy to go swimming. Adalyn, I want you to meet our friends. This is Nicole and this is Teddy" she says pointing to each one.
"It is so nice to meet you Adalyn. I have something special for you. Would you like to see what I have for you?" Nicole asks with a smile.
"Yes!" Adalyn's face lights up with excitement.
"Here you go milaya devushka. You can open this." Nicole hands her the bag and Adalyn gives her a sweet smile.
"Thank you." Adalyn pulls the paper out of the bag and gasps. "Hallie!" it is another stuffed animal from Doc McStuffins.
"Your Papa said you love Doc McStuffins so when I saw Hallie, I knew I needed to get her for you. There are a few more things in there."
Adalyn reaches back in and finds a pajama set that is Doc themed. She reaches in one more time and pulls out one last thing. It is a Dvd pack of all the seasons of Doc. Adalyn is so happy. It is adorable.
"Thank you!" she says full of excitement.
"You're welcome Adalyn."
Adalyn gets off of Maks' lap and gives Nicole a hug. There is not a dry eye among the adults.
"Mama, can I have a snack?"
"Of course milaya devushka. Let's go find you a snack." Meryl and Adalyn go into the kitchen and Larissa follows behind them.
"Maks, they are so connected. It's wonderful to see." Nicole reaches over and touches his arm.
"Adalyn told us that, well she told me and then I told Meryl, that she doesn't miss her Mom. She said she loves us."
