Chapter 30

Sunday, December 7th

It is the Sunday after the DWTS finale and Meryl, Maks, Adalyn, and Brynlee are on their way to pick up Val and Jenna from the airport. Maks parks their new 7 seating SUV. Maks couldn't bring himself to buy and drive a minivan so this SUV would have to work and it does.

Meryl brings the stroller to Maks and he puts the car seat in it. Meryl pushes the stroller. Adalyn is having trouble keeping up so Maks puts Adalyn on his shoulders.

As they are walking in, Meryl gets a phone call. She looks and sees it is Charlie. She gets really excited and answers it.

"Charlie!" Meryl says answering the phone.

"Hey Meryl."

"Charlie is it time?"

"Yes. We are at the hospital now"

"Ah! Maks, Tanith is in labor!"

"Awesome! Tell them I say congratulations."

"Thanks Maks" Charlie says clearly having heard him.

"You're going to keep me updated right?!"

"Of course Mer!"

"Thank you! Can't wait to meet my nephew even if it's through Skype."

"I'll keep you updated. Talk to you later Mer. Love you."

"Love you too Charlie." Meryl hangs up and looks up at Adalyn. "Adalyn, you are going to have a cousin soon. Aunt Tanith is going to have her baby soon."

"Yay! I want to go see him."

"We can't go see him but we'll meet him on FaceTime just like how Uncle Charlie and Aunt Tanith met Brynlee."

"Oh ok."

They get into the airport and they go to the baggage claim to wait for Val and Jenna. They only wait for a few minutes until they see Val and Jenna coming. Adalyn squirms on Maks' shoulders so he puts her down. Adalyn runs right to Jenna, wrapping her in a hug.

"Welcome home Tetya Jenna."

"Thank you milaya devushka. I missed you."

"I missed you too."

"Hey guys" Val says and pats Adalyn's head.

"Hi. How was New York?" Meryl asks.

"It was good. Everyone missed you all at the dinner."

"Ah I wish we could have been there. If we had gotten the go ahead from Brynlee's doctor, we would have been there" Meryl says.

"I know you would have" Jenna says.

"How were the interviews?" Maks asks looking at Jenna.

"Oh my goodness. There were so many! It was exhausting."

"I remember feeling the same way" Meryl says putting an arm around Maks and smiling up at him.

"Hmmm, I do too. I'm sure yours were nothing like ours though" Maks says winking at Meryl.

"Oh definitely not. We only got questions about the show and I got a few about Val and married life."

"That would have made it so much more simple and enjoyable."

"It was. It was simple" Jenna says smiling at Val.
