Chapter 15

Tuesday July 2nd

"Meryl, do you want me to stay? I can send Val to the airport. He'll be ok with it. I told him he's on stand-by to pick them up."

"No go. I'm starting to feel better. I promise." Meryl had a headache earlier. She had spent most of the day in bed. Maks kept Adalyn busy during the day letting Meryl rest.

"How about I take Adalyn with me?"

"You won't have enough room in the car. We'll be fine."

"Can I have Jenna come and help you?"

"Will it help you relax?"

"Yes."

"Ok then yes, have her come over."

"Good, she is already on her way. She'll be here soon."

"I should've known. Remind me, who all is coming today?"

"Your parents, Clayton and Emma, Charlie and Tanith, and Jacqui and big Charlie."

"Wait, they won't all fit in one car."

"I know. Val is driving too."

"Wait, I'm confused. I thought he was on stand-by to go."

"Well he was but when you weren't feeling good, I told him I would need him to drive. He was really on stand-by to have Jenna drive if you need me to stay home."

"Oh, I get it now. Let's go downstairs since Jenna will be here soon."

"Mer, stay in bed. I'll tell her where you are."

"Maks, I can not stay in this room any longer today. I promise, I feel so much better. I don't have a headache anymore."

"Ok fine" he says extending his hand to her to help her out of the bed. She gladly takes it and they walk downstairs.

A lot of people are coming in today and tomorrow. Tomorrow, July 3rd, is the day they will find out if they are having a boy or a girl. They will reveal the gender to everyone at their 4th of July party the next day.

The door opens and in walks Jenna. She comes and sits with Meryl on the couch.

"Val is waiting outside for you Maks" Jenna says.

"Thank you. We'll be back soon." Maks gives Meryl a kiss and then goes out to the car.

"Where is Adalyn?" Jenna asks.

"Napping still."

"Oh. How you feeling?"

"My headache is gone. I feel much better."

"Oh good! I'm so glad. How excited are you to find out what you are having tomorrow?"

"I can hardly wait!"

"I think you're having a girl."

"I hope you are right for Adalyn's sake. She really wants a sister."

"What do you think you are having?"

"I kind of think I'm having a girl."

"What does Maks think?"

"A boy."

"How are you going to tell everyone?"

"It's a surprise" Meryl says with a smirk.

"Ugh! Well if you aren't going to tell m, let's watch some TV."
