Chapter 13

Today is travel day to New York. It is Monday Morning. Meryl and Maks are packing up while Adalyn plays with Uncle Clay, Grammy, and Poppy.

"Maks, are you ready for this?"

"I think so Princess. Are you?"

"I don't know but I'll have to. We'll be ok right?"

"Oh Meryl" Maks says putting the clothes he is holding down and pulls Meryl to him. "We are going to be fine. I promise."

"I'm just worried about how people will react. I don't want people to say nasty things about you or Adalyn. I can handle what they'll say about me but I don't want the, to hurt either one of you."

"I'll protect us Meryl. I promise." Maks gives her a few kisses and then they get back to packing.

"I'm going to miss you Adalyn" Cheryl says. "Have a good flight." Adalyn gives her a big hug and kiss.

"Bye Adalyn. We'll talk real soon. Ok?" Paul says with a smile.

"Ok" she says and gives him a hug and a kiss as well.

Now it's Clayton's turn. Everyone knows this will be the hardest goodbye.

"Adalyn, I've had so much fun with you. I'm going to miss you so much. Let's take a picture. I'll look at it everyday and think about you. I'll send it to your Mama and Papa and when you miss me, you can look at it and call me. Ok?"

"Ok." Adalyn puts her head next to his and they snap a picture. It is the sweetest picture. He hugs her tight and she gives him a kiss.

Clayton holds Adalyn while Meryl and Maks hug Cheryl and Paul goodbye. Maks takes Adalyn from Clay and Clayton whispers into Maks ear. "Take good care of them."

"I will. I promise."

Meryl then hugs Clayton. She hugs him tight hoping it will tell him how she feels without words.

"Don't worry Meryl. You three will be ok. I love you."

"Thank you. I love you too Clayton."

"Alright my girls. It's time to get going. Thank you for letting us stay with you. We'll talk you all real soon, we love you all."

After quick goodbyes, Meryl, Maks and Adalyn climb into the car that is there to take them to Robert and Kym's plane that is going to take them to New York.

Adalyn quickly falls asleep in the car. Meryl and Maks hold each other thinking about the events of the next few days. They will arrive late tonight in New York. They will stay in a hotel for the night since they have GMA in the morning. ON Wednesday, they will have a family day with Maks' parents and then on Thursday, they will all fly back to L.A.

"Adalyn, do you want to go swimming before bath time tonight?"

They are at the hotel and are all settled in.

"Da Mama" Adalyn says excitedly.

"Alright. Let's get your bathing suite on then." They all get dressed and spent about an hour in the pool. Meryl and Maks are now giving Adalyn a bath.

"Adalyn, do you remember what special thing we are doing tomorrow?" Maks ask while Meryl washes Adalyn's hair.

"We are going on TV."

"Right. Good job milaya devushka. And do you remember why?"

"To talk about me and the baby."

"Right. It's ok if you get scared. Just remember, Mama and I will be there with you and we love you very much."
