Chapter 19

Monday, September 15th

"Maks! I need help!" Meryl yells as she stands in the doorway of their bedroom. It is the night of the DWTS premier. Both Val and Jenna are pros this year.

Maks comes out of Adalyn's room where he is getting Adalyn ready.

"What's wrong Princess?"

"I can't reach the zipper" she says quietly looking down at the ground. Meryl is a week short of being 7 months pregnant and her belly is really growing.

"Turn around Princess. I've got it" He zips the dress and then kisses her cheek before going back to Adalyn's room.

Meryl's dress is an ombre pink gown. The top has a beading detail that made her fall in love with the dress when she first saw it. It lays perfectly on her belly. Her hair is in a braided up do.

"Mama, are you ready to see Adalyn in her beautiful dress?"

"Oh, I'm so ready." Meryl steps out into the hallway.

"Presenting the beautiful Adalyn Liliya Chmerkovskiy."

Maks smiles at Adalyn and she walks into the hallway.

"Oh Adalyn! You look so beautiful!" Adalyn runs over and gives Meryl a big hug.

"So do you Mama. Don't you think so Papa?"

"I do. I'm going to be with the two most beautiful girls there tonight." He kisses Meryl.

Adalyn is wearing a light pink dress. The top has bunches of white flowers. The skirt is matching pink tulle that is large. Her hair is up in a crown braid with one curl hanging on each side.

Maks is wearing a soft pink shirt that matches both girls' dresses. He is wearing black pants. He knows he might get teased for the pink but he doesn't care because he will do anything to make his girls happy. If wearing pink to match them makes him happy, then that is what he'll do.

"Are we all ready to go?" Maks asks.

"I need to go to the bathroom first. You should try to go too Adalyn."

"Ok Mama."

After they both have all gone to the bathroom, they pile into the car and are off to the studio. When they arrive, they walk in hand in hand in hand. Adalyn is in aw when she sees the ballroom. They are sitting in the front row right by the judges table.

Meryl sits down but Maks walks Adalyn around the ballroom. All of a sudden, Meryl feels a hand on her shoulder. She turns and sees Amy standing there.

"Hi pregnant Mama."

"Hi Amy!" Meryl struggles to stand but then hugs Amy. "It's so good to see you."

"You too! Where is the rest of your adorable family?" They both sit back down.

"Maks is walking Adalyn around the ballroom letting her check things out."

"Aw! So sweet. How excited is she to see the show tonight?"

"Oh my goodness. She was bouncing off the wall all day. The only time she was still was during her nap. Thankfully Maks played with her most of the day. She can't wait to see Val and Jenna dance with their partners."

"That's so sweet! I'm going to go say hi to some more people I see. It was great talking to you Meryl. I'll see you later."

"Yes. See you later. Enjoy the show."

Soon after Amy leaves, Adalyn and Maks come back. They take their seats. Adalyn is on the right of Meryl and Maks is on the other side of Adalyn. Maks is the closest to the judges table.
