Chapter 27

Thursday, November 20th

Jenna and her partner are done with practice for the day. Their dance is almost perfect already. Jenna and Adalyn are watching Val rehearse. Jenna gets a text message. It's from Larissa. She, Sasha, and Sofiya are now at the hospital.

L- Meryl is 6cm. She takes a nap and the contractions are coming strong again.

J- Oh thank you Momma.

L- You're welcome. I'll keep you updated.

"Adalyn, let's go get your dance stuff on. It's almost time to go."

"Let's go" Adalyn says jumping off the steps and running to the door. Jenna gives Val a kiss.

"I'm going to go take her to dance Do you have someone who will take you to the hospital if I can't come get you?"

"Yes babe."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Jenna gets Adalyn dressed and they gather their things before leaving. Adalyn and Jenna sing loudly to the radio on the way to dance. She is bouncing in her seat. She quickly gets out of her seat and pulls Jenna into the dance center.

"Hi" Adalyn says excitedly when he sees her friends. Jenna sits down on the bench and helps Adalyn get undressed to her ballet outfit.

"Hi Jenna" Jamie says. "Where is Meryl?"

"At the hospital. Brynlee is on her way."

"And you guys are here?"

"Adalyn insisted on coming to dance. The last update, Meryl was at 6cm. Waiting for the text to come to the hospital."

"So exciting! Is the family coming in?"

"They already are. They are waiting at the hospital."

"Alright my little dancers. Let's go dance."

"Mrs. Sophie, Brynlee is going to be born today."

"Oh how wonderful."

Jenna hasn't let go of her phone since Adalyn had gone into class.

"You know staring at your phone won't make a text come in any faster than you want" Jamie says.

"I know but..." Jenna is cut off by a text. It's from Maks.

M- 8cm. Might want to head over now.

J- I'm getting her out of class now. We'll be there as soon as we can.

"She's 8 cm! Maks says to make our way over."

"Oh! Go get Adalyn" Jamie say excitedly.

Jenna hops off the bench and goes to studio 3's door. She knocks on the door and slowly opens it.

"Excuse me, Adalyn, it's time to go. Brynlee is going to be born really soon."

"Yay!" she says jumping up and down with excitement. She rushes off to gather her things. "My sister is coming!"

"I'm so excited for you Adalyn. We'll see you next time. Tell your Mama and Papa congratulations for me."

"Thank you Mrs. Sophie" Adalyn says bowing to her teacher and then runs to put her clothes back on. Jenna grabs her hand after they gather their things and rush to the car. They are at the hospital quickly. When they get to the waiting room, everyone is there. Cheryl is in the room with Meryl and Maks. Paul, Larissa, Sasha, Sofiya, Clayton, and Val are there. Val comes over and hugs and kisses Jenna. Adalyn runs straight to Clayton.
