"SHIT, I'm so sorry! I'll bring you another one right now!" I apologized for spilling Wes's juice all over his shirt and hurried back into the house, to the table where all the drinks and appetizers were held. My stomach was spinning and my hands were almost trembling. Almost everyone was here and I couldn't have made things worse. Of course as people began seeing me here, there was a lot of surprise and I had to constantly keep making excuses for where I had vanished for the past months after my brother... died. It was near four o'clock so I knew my sister would be arriving any moment now. The music was ready, everyone was in "SURPRISE" positions and my muscles were dancing salsa to the beat of my quick-paced heart. It was better than I expected, and people got along very well with each other, and no one really bothered to squeeze any information out of me about the past months. We all quieted up as a car pulled in the driveway. It was my dad who had gone to pick up my sister. Taking off my heels, I ran down and outside, grabbing Wesley by the hand and shoving him behind the cabinet.

"... and you can even call more than ten people at once. We tried it last night and it was so funny!" I heard my sister narrating to my dad. Immediately I peeked through the cabinet door from where I had a clear view of the kitchen. As soon as my dad and Jess stepped inside, I stuck my hand upwards and counted down from three. Two. One.

"SURPRISE!" everyone screamed at the top of their lungs and I was almost sure the whole country could have heard us. The music smashed in wildly and "Can't Stop" by Red Hot Chili Peppers started blasting through the speakers. Everyone ran towards my speechless sister, who was on the floor, tearing from amazement. They went out of the way when I walked towards her. I picked her up in my arms and whispered 'happy birthday love' in her ear as she tightened her arms around my neck. She kept sobbing and repeating 'thank you' to everyone who came by to wish her a happy birthday. Each and every one of her sly classmates was there with pretty huge and decent gifts that had filled up the living room. My eyes darted to my crying sister as most of the crowd cleared off and moved back to the garden.

"Dear, you deserve every bit of this" I picked her up in my hug.

"RAYYY I can't believe you did this! Uh this is so unfair how did I not know about this?" My sister hated feeling like she had no clue, so throwing a party she had no idea about threw her way out of her waters.

"Chill, you don't need to know everything, just relax and enjoy the paaaaartaaay!" I yelped excitedly and shoved her out of the kitchen and into where everyone was standing around.  Not much was really going on because I had avoided to invite that many people. I knew my sister had been starting to hang out with another type of group, they were all into bands and music as well, and she had told me all about them and shown my pictures on her Facebook page. So I conveniently forgot to add them to the invitations list which I gave Jake.

"Last night was fun" Wes grabbed my waist pulling me back inside with a wink.

"Yeah it was." I said distracted, looking at how my sister was getting along with all this surprise.

Having the responsibility of making sure this party was a success definitely gave my muscles a tension which I had to constantly control in order to be able to pass out all the drinks. Time was slowly passing by though, and people began to dance and have fun as the sky was getting darker. Thankfully, all our neighbors were there as well so we didn't have to worry about the music being too loud. As far as I could tell everyone was having a blast so I decided to take it easy on myself if I wanted to be able to keep the party alive for long enough. Discreetly leaving my drink on the counter, I slithered behind Wes as he was chatting with some high-schoolers friends of my sister, and quickly ran up the stairs locking myself in my room. I closed up the curtain and sunk into my bed. This day had completely worn me out and I hadn't stopped running around preparing, for a single second. I immediately began to regret laying down because my body started feeling heavy and I lost all power of getting up. I was exhausted.
