Chapter 4: Jinyoung's POV
The moment I opened my eyes panic was beginning to settle down on me. I scanned the entire place with my drowsy eyes. This isn't my room. Not my bed, different walls, different closet. I instantly got up and made my way out of the room. There must be a mistake coz this is definitely not our foster home.
I dragged myself to the door and opened it. I was surprised to see a boy already standing in front of it and he seems surprised to see me too. "Oh hyung! I was about to wake you up. How's your sleep?" He asked while pouting and rubbing his sleepy eyes. That's when my poor senses have finally awakened.
Me. Elementalist. Hunters. Heirs. Prophecy.
I sighed. I thought I was just dreaming. But the fact that this cute sleepy boy Bambam was at my door talking to me proved that it wasn't just a dream. The shits are real.
I smiled at him and patted his head. "I slept well, thanks," I lied. I actually didn't get any decent sleep but they don't need to know that, right? I'm pretty sure they haven't too.
I made my way to the kitchen while skimming the features of the whole apartment. Huge living room, spacious bedrooms, beautiful paintings on the walls and an amazing dining and kitchen area any chef would surely envy. Is this even an apartment? This place is like an extravagant hotel suite.
I saw the rest of the boys were already seated on the dining area eating breakfast. Well, all except for Mark. Yeah, Mark. That reminded me of what I saw at the veranda. I hope he's feeling better now. His gorgeous face need not be tainted with bitter tears but with luscious smiles instead. Wait. Did I just say he's gorgeous?
Everyone greeted me as I approached the area but I can feel the sadness and troubled emotions in their voices. And not to mention they all looked terrible - dark circles around their eyes and a deep frown on their lips. Maybe they were still upset about the events last night.
I greeted them and took a seat beside Youngjae. We continued with breakfast and after a few moments Mark emerged from his room. Then again I can't help but stare at him. Does he look this beautiful even this early in the morning?
The other boys exchanged nervous and guilty looks at each other as Mark walked towards us. He took a seat directly across mine beside Yugyeom. He didn't say anything and nobody greeted him too so I was a bit torn whether or not I should greet him first.
Awkward silence filled the dining room as we all continued with breakfast. Neither of us said a word, just focused on eating. I looked at Mark, his eyes were red and swollen, probably cried himself to sleep. Did he even get to sleep? He looks so pale. He wasn't eating too. He kept on poking his food with his fork but he doesn't eat them.
A few more moments of silence passed then all clatters of utensils stopped when somebody suddenly said, "Hyung please eat." It was Yugyeom. He was looking pleadingly at Mark, worry etched on his face as he too noticed the eldest wasn't eating.
Mark looked up from his plate and smiled at his younger brother. It was a very charming smile but anybody can tell there's something off from it. The others were looking at him as well and Mark must have felt their gazes coz he slowly stood up and was about to leave when Jaebum held his wrist.
"H-hyung," Jaebum called, eyes looking straight into Mark's but the latter had his fixed somewhere else, "i just... i just want to apologize for my behavior last night. We should have listened to your explanation before we reacted." Mark looked surprised. He mustn't have expected this apology. But before he could say a word Bambam was already on his feet, jumping on Mark from the back and hugging him tight.
