Maddie and I sat silently in our dormitory. It was a Sunday in March where we had nothing to do. Both of us were tired from staying up late. After a while, I decided to break the silence. "Maddie," I spoke.
"Hmmm?" She replied quietly.
"Where were you last night? You still weren't back by the time I went to bed, and that was at three in the morning."
"Oh Fred and I wandered the castle most of the night. We used a concealing charm on a sheet."
I looked at her, confused. "You were trying to make an invisibility cloak?"
"A crude one, yes, but it worked for what we were using it for. Of course it is nothing like Harry's."
I didn't realize that Harry had an invisibility cloak, but decided not to ask about that. "So what were you doing, wandering the castle after hours?"
"Well first we went to the kitchens and got food from the house elves. Those little guys love serving people. Next, we wandered around the castle for some time before going up to the astronomy tower. There I laid on his chest and we watched the stars above. Eventually we ended up falling asleep in each other's arms," Maddie gushed.
"You make it sound so sappy," I laughed. "I'm sure it was sweet though."
"It was, now what did you do?"
"Oh, you know..." I trailed off.
"Details Katie! I need details!" Maddie screamed.
"Well Draco and I had prefect duties as usual, and then we did our homework. It was late and I ended up falling asleep reading that chapter for DADA. Draco fell asleep to, but woke up and woke me up around 2:30 in the morning. He told me we could finish in the morning and we both headed to our rooms. By the time I got into bed, it was three."
"Oh I forgot about my homework."
"Maddie! This is why we usually do our homework as a foursome."
"Was Blaise doing homework with you guys?"
"No. We didn't start homework until late because of prefect duties. Blaise was sleeping when we started."
"Okay then I didn't miss anything! I need to be more organized so I don't forget stuff. Help me Katie!"
"Oh dear." I did a face palm. "You need to get your homework done now, missy."
"Alright. We should go down to the common room so I have a table to use." I nodded and waited for her to gather up her things before leading her down to the couches.
"Hello ladies," Blaise greeted as Maddie sat down next to him on the couch.
"Hey Blaise," Maddie smiled.
"Oh no, we can't have Blaise distracting you. Sit on this couch." She frowned as she got up and switched couches.
"Wait, how much time do I have? When do classes start?" Maddie suddenly freaked out.
"Relax. It's Sunday. Classes start tomorrow after breakfast."
"Oh, well in that case I think I'll just go see how Fred's doing." Maddie got up and started heading towards the door.
"SIT DOWN AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK NOW!" I yelled, but she continued walking. "MADDIE JENKINS SIT BACK DOWN ON THIS COUCH RIGHT NOW OR I'LL GET BLAISE TO CHASE YOU DOWN!" She stopped, turned around, and glared at me.
"Fine." She sat back down and finally started on her homework.
"Good. Now Blaise, please watch her to make sure she does her homework. No helping or doing it for her."
"I can do that," He replied.
"Thanks. I got to go, I'll be back later," I said after looking at the clock. I was going to be late for the DA meeting.
"Where are you going? What are you going to be doing?" Maddie asked. She walked over and poked me in the arm. "Huh?"
"Go back to your homework." Blaise came up behind her and picked her up by the waist to carry her back to the couch. She squirmed, kicked, and screamed, but gave in when he set her down on the couch again.
"Thanks Blaise. Now I'm going to be late. I'll see you two later."
"Wait! Where are you going? Will you tell me later?" Maddie asked.
"Nope. Sorry, bye!" I rushed out of the common room to the meeting.
Maddie's POV
We sat in silence as I worked on my homework for a while. When the silence started to bug me, I started up a conversation. "So what did you do last night?"
"My homework, unlike you," Blaise chuckled.
"Oh," I laughed nervously. "You know about that?"
"About what?" Of course he doesn't know! Blonde!
"Nothing," I laughed even more nervously.
"Wait, did something happen with Weasley? You didn't, did you? No, Maddie why?"
"We didn't do anything, Blaise. Why would you think that?"
"This is why you need to be careful dating older men! They'll pressure you into it."
"I'm not easily pressured, Blaise. Especially about such a big decision like that!" I got up and began heading to my dorm.
"Where are you going? You still have to finish your homework!" I scoffed before going back to grab my stuff.
"I'll do it, don't worry." After I got to my room, I heard footsteps. Blaise followed me. "Go away."
"No, you need to get your homework done."
"I don't need you to supervise me."
"We're not done talking about this."
"I didn't do anything!"
"But he'll pressure you into it."
"Fred isn't like that."
"He's already of age! It's considered rape if he gets you in bed."
"Why do you care? Why do you care what happens to me?"
"YOU KNOW WHY!" Blaise yelled.
"TELL ME WHY THEN!"
"I LOVE YOU, YOU KNOW THAT!"
I began to walk back out of the room. "Don't follow-" Blaise jumped in front of me and kissed me. I pushed him off. "Blaise!" I shrieked, shocked he would dare do that again, even though I kissed him first the other time.
"Don't pretend you don't feel anything." He kissed me once more and I pushed him away a second time.
"I. Love. Fred. Why can't you understand that?" I rushed out of the room, but Blaise didn't follow this time.
Katie's POV
"Hey Maddie have you seen Draco?" I asked Maddie as I found her walking in a hallway of Slytherin dorms.
"No I haven't, sorry."
"Well it's almost time for prefect duties. He needs to hurry up." I felt a pair of hands cover my eyes from behind.
"Looking for me?" I heard Draco whisper in my ear, sending chills down my spine.
"Well I was, but my eyes have decided to quit working so I can't anymore." He took his hands away from my eyes, turned me around to face him, and placed them around my waist. "Found you," I giggled.
"Awww you guys are too cute," Maddie said. "Well I'm just gonna go finish my homework. You two behave now." She wiggled her pointer finger at us before heading back down the hallway.
