The next month, I sat on the bed in the dorm. Draco was spending the morning with Blaise, so I decided to take advantage of the alone time by writing another song.
Everybody's waiting for you to break down
Everybody's watching to see the fallout
Even when you're sleeping, sleeping
Keep your ey-eyes open"Well that's fitting," Draco said, popping into the room just as I rang out the final chord on my guitar.
Setting my guitar back onto its stand, I replied, "Well they always say to write from your own experiences, so I would agree with that statement. Are you and Blaise done with your 'man time'?"
"Yeah, he said he wanted to work on homework now," Draco explained. "It's a bit chilly outside, but wanna go by the tree for a bit? Some fresh air might be nice."
I nodded. "Alright, that sounds like it could be fun. Let me just go grab my coat quick."
Twenty minutes later, we were down by the lake, walking around the grounds. "Are you warm enough?" Draco asked me, noticing that I had buried my hands deep inside my pockets.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I assured, looking up at him. "For February, it's not so bad out here. You were right though, the fresh air is nice." We continued walking in silence for a few minutes before an idea popped into my head. "Hey Draco..."
"Yes, love?"
"I dare you to jump in the lake."
"What? No! Why would I ever want to do that?"
"For my amusement," I smirked. "Pleeeease!"
He debated the idea in his head for a minute. "If I do it, you have to do it too. We'll jump in together."
"Deal."
"Really?"
"Yeah, come on. Let's do it," I insisted. We stopped walking, already at the water's edge. "On three. One...two...three!" I watched as Draco ran into the lake, jumping as soon as he got out to the deeper water. Before he noticed that I hadn't followed, I ran to go hide behind a tree farther up on the grounds. Catching my breath, I tried to remain as quiet as possible.
"What are you doing?!" Draco asked, coming out of nowhere. I screamed, surprised by his sudden appearance. Before I could run away, he picked me up. "You were supposed to jump in too!
"Draco! Wait, no! Ahhhh!" I screamed as he headed back towards the lake. "Draco, stop!" I laughed. He moved out to the shallows before throwing me a few feet in front of him. Once I resurfaced, I screamed again. "Draco Lucius Malfoy, you're going to pay for that!"
"Hey, hey, alright! Take it easy now!" Draco laughed, shielding himself with his arms as I launched splashes of water towards him. I made my way closer to him and he pulled me in, kissing me. "It's bloody freezing. Let's go inside now," he suggested.
We headed back to our dorm, changing into dry clothes as soon as we got back. Still shivering, I stated, "I still feel cold. How would you feel about going to the prefect's bathroom to take a bath?" Draco raised his eyebrows in response. I rolled my eyes. "Nothing like that, I'll wear my swimsuit and you can wear boxers since you don't own one."
"Alright, let's do it," Draco agreed.
After arriving in the prefect's bathroom, we locked the door behind us so nobody else could come in and disturb us. We ran the bath water extra hot before getting in.
"This is nice," I stated after we adjusted to the heat. Draco hummed in agreement. Chuckling, I asked, "Remember last year when we swam in the creek behind my mom's house?"
