Draco's POV:

When I woke up in the morning, Blaise was in the shower and Katie was still sleeping. Kneeling by her bed, I tried to gently shake her awake. "Draco," she mumbled. Merlin, did she just say my name in her sleep? Katie smiled and mumbled again, "Draco." Once more, I tried shaking her awake.

"Katie, time to get up," I whispered.

"Blaise," she murmured. My heart sank, of course she fancies Blaise.

Katie's POV:

I woke up to Draco kneeling by my bed. Sitting up, I said, "Hi."

"I'm sorry about last night. I was being crabby and selfish. Are you alright?" I nodded. "You should get back to your room before people are out in the hallways and notice you leaving our room."

I nodded again before getting up, grabbing my blanket, and leaving. As I made my way back, Dad was walking towards me. "Just what are you doing leaving Mr. Malfoy's room at this hour?" He asked.

"I-" Before I was able to answer, he barged into Draco's room. "Dad!" He turned to look at me. "I came to them for comfort last night. They offered me their extra bed so I wouldn't have to walk back to my room."

"Why did you need comforting?"

"I-I-I found out about why I'm alive," I responded quietly.

"You what? I told you that I'd tell you when you're older. Why didn't you wait?" He yelled, making me wince.

"It was an accident."

"We'll discuss this later. For now go back to your own room."

~~~~~
After dinner, I had to go to Dad's office. I explained about my flashback. "I told you I would tell you when you're older. Why didn't you listen?" He yelled.
"It was an accident," I cried.
"How was it an accident? You shouldn't have been thinking about it at all."
"I can't help it that I was curious on if you and mom were even married. You didn't even love each other. You barely knew each other."
"This is why I didn't want to tell you yet. You're obviously too young and foolish to understand."
"You don't believe that it was an accident," I yelled. "And you don't trust me enough to know I wouldn't sleep with someone. I'm fourteen. I'm smart enough to know better." After that, I ran out of his office.
~~~~~

A week later in potions class, Dad gave the class the instructions before walking over to mine and Draco's desk in the back of the room. "It has been a week, Katie. I can no longer condone that you are not sitting in your regular spots. Please move to your front desk that you usually sit in."

"But we already started our potion," I argued. He flicked his wand and sent all of our stuff to our desk in the front of the room.

"Problem solved," he smirked. "Now get to the front, now."

"Why? Don't trust me in the back? You think I'll talk and mess around?" I snapped.

"Do not talk about our personal matters in class. Now go before I begin to take away points." Angry, I stormed up to my seat with Draco cautiously following. The whole class had stopped working to watch. Sitting down, I began working again. Dad sat back down at his desk in the front and said to the class threateningly, "Get back to work."

After class, a disadvantage of the front was I was one of the last to leave. "Katie, I'd like a word with you," Dad said, I murmured a quick good-bye to Draco before hurrying out, ignoring Dad. "Get back here, young lady," he called after me. He followed in pursuit as I walked up the stairs into the Entrance Hall.
