The rest of Christmas break was great. One day as Maddie and Fred left the Great Hall I said, "See you later, Maddie and Freddy."

Both of them turned around. Fred gave me a weird look while Maddie groaned, "Katie!" I snickered as they left.

I've been using my camera a lot already. The pictures I've been taking are: some of our foursome (Maddie, Blaise, Draco, and I), a few of Blaise and I, a few of Maddie and I, one of me with Dad, and even one of me with the Weasley twins. Most have been of Draco and I

"You've taken so many pictures already," Draco chuckled as I snapped one of Blaise giving Maddie bunny ears. "Soon you'll have enough to fill a book."

As soon as break ended and classes started again, the teachers didn't hesitate to give homework out right away. If you managed to get your homework done, free time was considered a delicacy.

We, the foursome, usually did all our homework together on Saturdays. Sometimes Crabbe and Goyle came too, but they kept to themselves most of the time.

One Sunday in mid-January, Maddie went to hang with Fred while Draco, Blaise, and I headed back to the common room. We sat in the usual spots. I tucked my feet in and laid my head on Draco's shoulder. He put his arm around me. Blaise shifted uncomfortably.

"I'm going to go to my room. I'll see you guys later," he said, getting up.

"Is something wrong?" I asked, sitting up. He shook his head and took a step towards the stairway.

"Come on Mate, you can tell us," Draco said.

"It's just that I'm the only lonely one in our group of friends," Blaise explained.

"You're not lonely. You have us," Draco told him.

"No not like that. I mean I'm the only single person. I'll see you later," he turned and rushed up the stairs.

Draco stood up, but I lightly pushed him back down. "Let me handle this," I told him.

"Alright," he sighed.

I headed up the stairs and to Blaise's room. Knocking on the door, I shouted, "Blaise its Katie, let me in." No answer. "If you don't open this door, I'll open it myself." It was locked. "Alohomora," I muttered before trying again. This time the door opened.

Blaise was lying on his back on top of his bed, staring at the ceiling. "Something tells me this isn't just about being single," I said.

"It kills me to see her with him," he told me.

"The time will come when Maddie and Fred break up. When that happens, be her shoulder to cry on. She'll get over him eventually, and when she's ready to date again, you'll be there waiting."

He sat up on the edge of the bed and I sat next to him. "You think so?" he asked.

"I know so," I replied.

"Thanks Katie." He hugged me.

"You're welcome. Do you want to go back to the common room now?"

He shook his head. "I think I'll stay here." I told him I'd see him later and headed back to the common room. Once I got there, I curled up against Draco on the couch again.

"Is he alright?" Draco asked me.

"He'll be fine," I replied. We sat there in silence for a while until once more I spoke. "Draco?"

"Yes?"

"You said you've liked me since you first met me, but what about when you dated Parkinson? Or when you told me you fancied Maddie?"
