The last days at Hogwarts for the year, our foursome spent most of our time under our favorite tree near the lake. It was some of the most fun we had all year and I knew once summer break began I would miss it. Soon it came time to board the train home. After setting all of our luggage on the shelves up top, our foursome sat down in our compartment. "What a year, huh?" Maddie spoke to break the silence that filled our compartment.
"I never want another one like this again!" I exclaimed.
"I agree. It was so crazy! I'm so glad Umbridge got what she deserved though. I was waiting for the toad to get what was coming to her all year!"
Blaise, Draco, and I laughed. "Hopefully next year we'll have a decent teacher for DADA," I stated.
"Do you think your dad might have a chance of actually getting the post this year?"
I shrugged. "Maybe if Dumbledore can't find anyone else for the job."
"I kind of hope he doesn't get it," Maddie admitted.
"He has wanted it ever since he began teaching. Why don't you want him to get it?" I asked.
"Isn't the job cursed? I mean we've never been able to keep a defense teacher for more than a year. They either go away or die. I don't want Professor Snape to die."
"Yeah I guess. I never really thought about it, but maybe that's one of the reasons Dumbledore won't let him have it."
"Yeah-" Maddie was interrupted by Crabbe and Goyle, who decided to come sit in our compartment and walk in between Maddie and I's conversation. Goyle squeezed in between Maddie and Blaise while Crabbe sat between me and the window.
"You dunderheads! We were having a conversation here!" Draco insulted them.
"Hey, be nice!" Maddie scolded. "Anyways, we should play truth or dare. I don't think we've played that in a while."
"OK," I replied with a devilish smile. The others murmured agreement as well. "You go first because it was your idea to play. Truth or dare?"
"Dare as always!"
I smirked and told her, "Snog Blaise for an entire minute." I swore I saw Blaise hide a smile.
Maddie's eyes widened. "What? I don't think so. I have a boyfriend after all. It wouldn't be right."
My smirk widened as I stood and yelled, "YOU HAVE TO. IT'S A DARE!" Next I got all up in her face and whispered, "Or are you a chicken?" before sitting back down.
"Hell nah I ain't chicken!" Maddie retorted. She sighed. "Fine, whatever. Come here Blaise. I don't want to get up to do this."
"Lazy," I mumbled.
"Katie, I heard that! I am not lazy. I just don't want to get up to do something I don't want to do without benefits."
"You get to snog Blaise. That is the benefit," Draco laughed.
"Shut up, Draco!"
"Go on now, we're all waiting!" I spoke in my sing-song voice.
"Make sure you both really get into it," Draco chimed in before winking.
"DRACO, FOR THE LAST TIME SHUT UP!" Maddie screamed before slapping him across the head. Draco cringed, but laughed. "Let's just get this over with. Katie, please time it." She grabbed Blaise by the collar of his shirt and began snogging him.
Draco laughed and wolf whistled, causing me to laugh. "Oh Draco, dear, you made me lose track! I think I was at 20. Or maybe it was 30? OK I'm almost certain it was 40. Ah oh well. One. Two. Three," I started counting from the beginning again. "60. ALL DONE!"
