Pushing away my plate, I was satisfied with being stuffed with food. Maddie and Draco were still eating. There was a little barn owl that swooped into the hall and landed in front of me, dropping a small scrap of paper then took off again. The hand writing on the note looked as if it was changed so I wouldn't recognize it. It read a very short, sweet note:

You look beautiful today.

Thinking it was meant for someone else, I flipped it over to see that it had my name on it. I quickly looked over to Seamus, but he was leaving the Great Hall. "Are you guys done yet?" Mouths full of food, they shook their heads. "Fine. I'm going to go put this in my trunk in my dorm." I told them as I held up the anonymous note. After I got to the top of the stairs that descend towards the dungeons, I heard Seamus call my name. "Yeah?" I replied.

"What are you doing the rest of the day? Want to hang out?"

"OK. Just let me go tell Maddie and Draco." Hurrying back into the Great Hall, I stuffed the note into my shoe. "Hey, I'm going to hang with Seamus this afternoon. I'll see you at dinner." I met Seamus in the entrance hall before we headed to the Gryffindor common room.

The room was deserted when we arrived. Most likely everyone was still eating. Sitting side by side on the couch, a yawn erupted out of me. "Tired?" Seamus asked.

"Yeah. I got up earlier than usual." He patted his shoulder and I rested my head on it. My eyes closed for only a few seconds before there were people coming into the room shouting.

"Hey Fred! George, come on give it back!" It was Fred and George throwing a cupcake back and forth with Ron in the middle.

"George, drop the cupcake," I yelled as I stood up. He dropped it right at Crookshanks feet. Crookshanks grabbed it and ran off to the girls' dorms. Shortly afterwards, Hermione came running through the portrait hole closely followed by Harry.

"I hate your cat, Hermione. He stole my cupcake," Ron cried.

"Honestly Ron you could of just got another one instead of chasing them up here," Hermione replied.

"Really Ronald? A cupcake? You ran all the way here because of a cupcake? And Fred, George, you should know better than to mess with Ronald's food," I scolded.

"Yes Mum," Both twins answered.

I rolled my eyes and said, "Come on Seamus, let's go find somewhere more peaceful to hang out at."

"Wait Katie, can I talk to you?" Ron asked.

"You are talking to me."

"No I mean can I talk to you alone?" I nodded then followed him to a corner of the room that was isolated from the rest. "OK listen. I realize this is like a ten month late apology, but I'm sorry about what I did to you last year. I have no idea what I was thinking. There was no reason for me to do that."

"Anything else?" I asked when he didn't say more.

"I'm over you so you don't need to feel weird around me. I've realized you'll never like me as more than a friend so I've moved on."

"OK." I turned on my heel and walked back over to Seamus. Grabbing his hand, I led him out of the common room.

"Let's go to the library," Seamus suggested. "It's quiet there." I nodded and we continued to hold hands as we made our way there. We quickly were able to find a couch in the back corner of the room. Seamus and I sat down and I resumed my position of having my head lie on his shoulder.

"Okay, now I'm not that tired. I think as long as we're here I might as well get that book I need for my herbology homework. You can stay here. I'll be back soon." As I was looking for the correct book, Seamus decided to jump out from behind a bookshelf and make me scream. Madame Pince shushed us and I told her sorry. "Seamus don't scare me like that!" I whispered. He laughed before disappearing again. Being extra cautious to make sure he didn't make me scream again, I continued to look for the book I needed.
