Just Us

"You're spending Christmas with us, right Michael." My mother asked.
" yes mother. Jayden & I will be spending Christmas with you guys. He's really excited." I giggled.
" mama!" Jayden said excited. (Mama as in grandMA.)
"He wants to talk to you." I giggled handing him the phone.
" mama! Are you making my cookies?" He asked with his curls a mess. "Yes jayjay. Mama is making your cookies." She laughed.
" Good cause daddy burnt our cookies" He whispered.
" Oh hush up." I laughed taking the phone from him.
" He's getting so big michael!" My mom gushed.
" I can't believe he's 2 already. He's such a handsome boy." She said. I guess you could say Jayden was my mom's favorite.
"He looks just like his daddy." I said cockily laughing.
" that he does, my handsome boys." She said sweetly.
" listen mom, you know I can't thank you enough for stepping in and helping me with Jayden. I'm sorry for all the bull crap in the past." I said sincerely.
" you know what, we learn from the past. You're a great single father & I am more than happy to help with him." She smiled.
" Thank you mom." I said.
" No problem sweet heart. Well it's only 3 weeks till Christmas, gotta get my shopping done." She said.
"Alright well I love you mom."
"Love you too honey." She said hanging up.
"Daddy, i's hungry." Jayden said.
" say, I am hungry. Not i's, I am." I corrected him. Though when he talked like that it was adorable I wanted him to learn to speak properly.
" I am hungry." He smiled. "Good job. I'll make you some spaghetti Os." I said. He clapped excitedly.
I looked down at my wrist as I heated up his food. I had Aria's name on one wrist & Jayden on the other. Everytime I've felt defeated I look down and I see their names and they make me wanna strive harder.
Jayden is definitely my pride & joy. Nina tried to take him from me but like I said before over my dead body is my kid going anywhere.
Aria is my.pride & joy but she's also this missing piece in my heart.
" Daddy Do you know what I weeally want from christmas?" Jayden said as I gave him his food.
" what is that buddy?" I asked.
"I want brother or a sister!" He said excited.
"I think it's just gonna be you and I for a while." I sighed.
" how long is a while?" He asked confused.
" Jayden I don't know. Can you please eat your food." I said.
He stuck his tounge out at me.
I kissed his cheek. " I love you." I told him. "I wuv you too daddy." He said eating.
We spent most of December at my mom's so Jayden could spend time with his cousins. I sat at the table, just staring off into space. "Michael sweetie, what's wrong
You've been quiet." My mom asked.
" I think Jayden is going to be my only kid. I can't go through anymore crazy ass women." I said.
" Michael there is someone out there for you." She said sitting down next to me.
" Well how many crazy women and baby mama's do I have to go through till I find her?! Mom I can't keep doing this." I said stressed.
" Michael just let the lord work in your life." She said grabbing my hand. "Fine mom." I said. She hugged me kissing my head.
We spent the night watching movies and eating mother christmas goodies.

It was now not even a week before Christmas. Jayden and I were baking cookies & hopefully I wouldn't burn them this time!
"Santa clause is coming to town! " Jayden sang.
" sing it buddy!" I laughed as he started to sing louder.
He was dancing in the middle.of the kitchen & singing his heart out.
*ding dong* the door bell rang. "Daddy! Someone at the door!" Jayden said. I turned off the music. "I wonder who it could be?" I said taking off my apron. The door bell rang again
"Coming!" I shouted. I got to door, and Jayden was close by. I opened my door to see 2 woman & a man.
"Yeah its definitely him. " one woman said (Sara). I gave a confused look
" um hi, are you Michael Jackson?" The other woman asked (Elizabeth)
" who's asking? " I asked.
" we are, um sara you take it from here." The man said.
"Okay what the hell is going on here?" I asked. "Ohhh swear jar daddy!" Jayden said.
" Jayden hush." I said.
" Michael I adopted out your daughter nearly 8 years ago." She said.
My heart started thumping "I knew you looked familiar. What are you doing at my house? You have a lot of nerve coming around here after you gave my kid away!" I said trying to contain my temper.
" she wants to meet you." The other woman said.
" what?" I asked confused. "It's the only thing she wrote on her christmas list. She wants to meet you and her bio mom." She said nervous.
A lump formed it my throat. "You adopted my daughter?" I asked trying to keep calm.
" yes we adopted her." The man said.
" Where's her birth mark?" I asked testing them
"She has two
One on her butt and one on her head but you can't see it." The mother answered.
" ca-can we go inside? I need to sit down." I said

I sat in my recliner with Jayden on my lap.
"Am I going to get to be in her life? Can't handle only meeting her then her taken away again." I asked.
" That's our plan unless you are to show an unhealthy relationship with her." Elizabeth.
"This is crazy." I said as a tear trickled down my face. "Have you found Dre?" I asked
"I'm having a hard time finding her, my next option is to try to find Josh instead which shouldn't be hard." Sara said. I just sat there staring at the carpet. I don't know if I could handle.seeing Dre. "Michael I don't know what happened between you two but you need to put it aside for Aria." Sara said. I nodded. "Okay, when do I get to see her?" I asked wipping my face. "Christmas, we wanna surprise her. You'll be her last present. She gonna be so happy." Elizabeth said.
" Daddy what's going on?" Jayden asked turning to me.
" remember how you said you want a sister or brother for christmas?" I asked. He nodded excited. "Well you get an older sister for christmas." I told him
He sniffed the air, "DADDY! THE COOKIES!" He hollered. "Shit." I said getting up and rushing to the oven. I opened it up and a bunch of smoke came out. "Not again daddy!" Jayden said plopping onto the ground.
"Michael here's my card if you have question I'll be calling in two days to give you exact time and everything." Sara said smiling.
" Thank you." I replied.

I called my mom nearly in tears.
" hi michael." She answered sweetly.
" Hey mom, I got some news." I said trying to keep calm.
" what is it?" She asked
"I won't be making it to christmas." I said.
" Wait what, why Michael we had everything planned out! " She freaked out.
"Mom, um Aria's case worker came by with the people who adopted her. I get to see Ari on christmas." I said crying.
"Oh my god! Yes the lord has answered my prayers! Michael this is fantasic!" She said.
"Michael I've been praying for this for a long time. " She said as she started crying
"me too mom. I can't believe this. I get to see my little girl again!" I said.
" I'm so happy honey. But I've got your nephews here right now & they are just going crazy! I'll speak with you soon." She said.
"I love you mom." I said.
"I love you more michael." She said hanging up.
" Daddy why is you crying? Don't cry daddy." Jayden said wipping my face.
" I'm happy jj. These are tears of happiness. I've been waiting a long time to see your sister." I told him.
" I'm so excited to get sister." He squealed hugging me.
" Jayden did you poop?" I asked smelling farts.
" Daddy I'm so happy I pooped! I couldn't help it!" He beamed. I just died laughing. "I cannot wait to potty train you." I giggled changing his diaper.

I couldn't sleep or eat. I was so excited about seeing my little girl. I got out all of her pictures. I selected the best ones to take with me to show her. I grabbed a couple of my family pictures and then family picture of just her, Dre and me.

"Dad-dee, someone phone for you! " Jayden said holding my phone up.
" Jj! Why do you have my phone! " I said irritated. He put his hands on his hips "I was paying games dad-dee!" He said with attitude.
I put the phone to my ear "hello? "
I answered "hey michael its Sara Miller. You got a couple of minutes?" She asked.
" of course !" I said.
" So I'll meet you at your house at like 8am tomorrow. You can follow me to their house. Make sure to bring Jayden. Aria still be thrilled to have a bio little brother." She said.
" okay. " I said shaking.
"Alright I will see you tomorrow." She said hanging up.
After I set Jaydens presents under the tree I stood in front of my mirror. I had to dress my best but not over dress.....
" daddy?" Jayden said opening my door. "Jj you're suppose to be asleep."
I said picking him up. I sat him on my bed. "I had a bad dream." He said
"Well help me pick out what to wear. It'll get your mind off of it."
He nodded.
"How about this sweater." I said putting it on. He started laughing
"What? " I asked.
" Daddy you dorkie." He said still giggling.
"Okay what about this black pull over?" I asked putting it on.
He nodded "I like."
"Okay." I replied.
I got into my PJ'S and cuddled jayden. Call it unmanly all you want but he's my snuggle bug. I know I sound gay but he doesn't have a mommy t snuggle up to or to be a momma's boy like me. I try my best to play both rolls.
