DRE'S POV
I have no idea what's going on. I just did as Michael said. He's freaking me out. I got dresses quickly then grabbed my purse as Michael dragged me downstairs to the truck. We got into the car and just drove. I was scared to ask him what's going on, the look on his face was full of panic. But once I saw we were pulling up to the hospital I knew something was very wrong. Something in me was telling me it was Jayden. We parked next to the entrance and we ran inside. He ran to front desk, "Where's my son! Jayden Jackson!" He freaked out. "Sir, please sit. We have a officer here to speak with you." She said trying to calm him. "Michael. Come on." I said pulling his arm. "I want to see him now!" He panicked. "Sir-" "Michael, I'm officer Hall. I don't know if you remember me." Officer Hall introduced himself. "Tell me it's not as bad. I want my kid." Michael begged. "Michael please sit." He said. I pulled him To a chair. Anger filled his face. "It seems Jayden's mother decided to have a party tonight and things got bad." The officer said softly. Tears filled michaels eyes. "The neighbors called about a noise disturbance. And I recognized Nina when I went to the house. It was basically another drug bust. We found Jayden unconscious on the floor upstairs in a room." Tears soaked Michaels face as he heard Jj was harmed. "Were not sure what they did to him but it's worst than last time.... He's in critical condition and I think they have have him in surgery right now. He was going in and out of consciousness. He was mumbling a little." Officer Hall said. "What did he say?" Michael asked. "He kept saying Daddy and Dre." He replied. "I swear I'll fucking kill her!" Michael hollered. "We already have her in custody and I promise you Michael, and this is the second time I've seen this sweet little guy go through this. I promise I will try my hardest to make sure she never touches or sees him again. I will do everything I can to get her locked up. I'm so sorry Michael." Officer Hall said. I can't wrap my head around this. Michael is shaking he's so upset. I'm just in shock. This can't be real. I shook Officer Halls hand and thanked him. "Do you want me to call your mom?" I asked softly rubbing his arm. He nodded. I kissed his cheek and called Katherine. I called Liz and Shawn also.
They all came bursting through the door. Katherine was in tears and Aria ran to me. Michael tried to stay strong. He wouldn't really talk to anyone. "Mom whats wrong with Jayden?" She asked scared. "His mommy hurt him again and he's in really bad shape." She started crying. "I wanna see him! I want my brother!" She cried. "I know baby, we want to see him too." I said as tears streamed down my face. Soon Erin and Josh were here too. We all waited in the waiting room. No one really talked. Aria hugged on Michael. He wrapped his arms around her still just trying to keep it together . Finally a doctor came out and called Michaels name. They're finally letting us see him. Me and Aria stayed close to Michael as we walked down the cold hallway. Before we got to see him the doctor described Jayden's condition further. "His eyes are swollen shut, we found heroin in his system and he's got bruises on his arm his arms. It seems he wasn't being watched and he fell and hit his head , that's how he became unconscious. It doesn't look like anyone hit him but he's pretty beat up for a little guy. We're doing the best we can to make sure there's none to very little long term damage." The doctor said. We showed us where Jayden was. There was a window we could look through to see him. The doctor told us to keep out of the room till Jayden wakes up. Michael looked through the window and I could see the heart break all over his face. I then myself looked through the window. My heart stopped. He didn't even look like himself. His face was swollen and had marks all around his arms and a big cut on his forehead. I covered my mouth in disbelief that someone did this to him. I'm trying to keep myself together but I cant. I couldn't help but sob and soon Michael was doing the same. He banged his fist against the wall then walked away, down the hall. I was about to go after him till Katherine stopped me. "Let him go. He needs a couple minutes." She said. I nodded wipping my face. She hugged me as she cried too.
It felt like hours we stood there just waiting. It's been 2 hours sense Michael walked off. "Stay here with Josh. I'm going to go find your dad." I told Ari, kissing her head. I walked down a couple hallways and couldn't find him I walked out the back of the hospital and found him sitting on the curb with his head in his hands. I walked up next to him and sat. He looked over then back to the ground. I grabbed his hand, holding it. He turned his head the other way. "Michael." I said softly. He just shook his head. Tears began to soak his face again. "He's gonna be okay." I said softly, turning his face to me. I kissed his cheek, then gently kissed his lips. He then rest his forehead against mine. He shook his head. "I failed him." He spoke. "No you didnt-" "Yes I did! I didn't protect him!" He hollered standing up. I stood up, "God damn it! I should've fought harder for him! I should've been keeping a closer eye on him!" He freaked out. "This isnt your fault! You had no control over this. You and I both know no matter how hard you fought for him, she was going to get custody of him." I told him. "I wanna kill her." He admitted. "I know you Do. But we just need to focus on Jayden right now." I said holding his face. I hugged him. He dug his face into my neck. "Were gonna be okay baby." I told him. He hugged me tight, "I love you." He said. "I love you too." I said.
We sat out there for a while, till Katherine called Michael saying Jayden was waking up. We rushed back in. The doctor was waiting for us. As we got closer we could hear Jayden screaming. "Can we see him?" Michael panicked. "Yeah but only you & he keeps asking for Dre. We don't want a lot of people in there. He needs to stay calm and rested." He said. Jayden was still crying. Michael and i were quick to get in there. "Daddy!" He cried. "I'm right here buddy." Michael said trying to calm him. "I hurt daddy!" He cried. "I know you do buddy." Michael replied. "I can't see good daddy!" Jayden freaked out. "Jayden, calm down." I said standing at the other side of him. "Dreee!" He cried. Jayden started to shake violently. "Daddy!" He cried. Michael held his hand as he couldn't stop shaking. "Whats wrong with him?!" I asked. "It's the heroin." Michael replied. We sat there with him all night trying to calm him. We brought Ari in to talk to him and that helped. Eventually they gave him some pain meds and he was asleep again. Everyone then came in to see him.
Everyone went home but Me, Michael and Ari. Michael was in The chair next to Jayden's bed, and me and Ari was laying on the couch.
"What did he have to get surgery on?" I asked. "I think they were doing something to get the heroin out of his system." He said. "I know what heroin is. James said it's a really bad drug that kills people. Is Jayden going die?" Ari asked getting upset. "Oh no baby. Jayden will be okay. He's just in a lot of pain right now." I said. "Daddy?" She asked needing Michaels reassurances. "He's gonna be okay babygirl." He said. "Mom, do you think Jayden will be out of here for my birthday next week?" She asked. "I hope so." I replied. "Can you believe we have a kid who is almost 10 years old." I giggled. Michael smiled a little. "I can remember the day she was born like yesterday." He commented. "Will you tell me about it. I really wanna hear something happy." She said. "Well I remember getting up for school and telling your mom that she should stay home because you were due any minute. She couldn't even fit in the desks at school anyways." He giggled. "Hey!" I giggled. "We got home and your mom was so tired. So I did homework and she napped. I went to rub her leg and it was all wet. Her water broke while she was sleeping. So we got up really quick and went to the hospital. Everyone came to hospital waiting for you to get here." He smiled. "Were you scared mom?" She asked. "Oh yeah. I was a tiny little 15 year old about to birth a baby. I had a little trouble with you but your dad was pretty good at keeping me calm." I said brushing her hair back. "Then the doctor checked your mom and said you were ready. So everyone left but me. It took about 30 minutes for your mom to push you out. But then you were here. Kicking and screaming." He giggled. "Were you in a lot of pain mom?" She asked. "Yeah but you were worth it all." I said smiling. "Worth every sleepless night, every exhausting moment, every grey hair." I giggled. "Everything was so perfect in that moment you made your entrance into the world." Michael said. "That story makes me really happy." She smiled. "It makes us happy too." Michael said.
