~Day 4~
"Line up, now!" Major Payne yelled as he herded us from the lunch room and out into the courtyard. In-between breakfast and lunch were inspection checks of our bunks and lockers which I passed with a breeze...others not so much. Let's just say Maria won't have to do laundry for awhile."Woods." He said as he looked towards me making me eyes go wide. "Good to have you back." He nodded as he looked down at his clipboard.
"Yeah...right." I grumbled to myself as he checked off if everyone was here. I was only gone for a day...and he was the one who purposely had me train with the girls.
"Well you've made it through your first week of training camp. Congratulations. Only four more and you'll be on your way to being the best fast jet flyers of your generation." He said as everyone smiled and nodded.
"To finish off this week we're just going to do a team building activity. You'll be divided into two halves and sent into the woods on a game I like to call escape and evasion." He said making everyone suddenly tune in intently, excited about what the game would entail.
"Four of you are going to be seekers, which I'll pick right now. Everyone close your eyes and cover your ears. If you feel my hand on your shoulder you're a seeker. If I see you peeking you're going to run a mile." He threatened as we all covered our eyes and plugged our ears not wanting the punishment. A few seconds later I heard him say we could open our eyes.
"Losing team has to clean the floor of the gym tonight while the rest of you have it off." He said making everyone groan and some others clap in excitement.
"Now I just have to split you in half." He said as he went down the line counting every other off. "Oh Woods, we have an odd number." He said as he got to me.
"You've got the choice, want to seek or evade?" He asked as I contemplated what I really wanted to do.
"I think I'll evade. I'm up for the challenge." I said as he dipped his head.
"Very well, team one will have 11 players and team two will have 10. Follow me over to the playing field." He said as we began our trek towards the woods on the far side of the building. After about a four minute walk we were there and before us were two small gray sheds.
"Each team will have a shed filled with tools and miscellaneous outdoor items inside. Inside are clues on how to unlock the door, once the door is unlocked you will run into the woods where you will try to stay undetected from the seekers until you find the flag. Once you have the flag, your team has won. If nobody gets the flag in under an hour the seekers win and will have the night off. When you hear my whistle go to the middle of the woods because the game is over. Clear?" He asked as we all responded with a "Yes sir."
"Good, team one you're in there. Team two over there." He said as he pointed towards our sheds as we ran to them. Once we got there we huddled outside of it where I happily found out I was on Harry's team.
"Ready to kick some ass?" He asked as I nodded my head and we heard a shout from the other team.
"Come on, bring everything!" Louis yelled from the other team's huddle making us shake our heads.
"Alright enter your sheds, the seekers are finding their spots." Payne announced as we quickly scrambled inside giddy from all the anticipation.
"This is too small for 11 people!" The boys complained as I groaned in annoyance already wishing I would have picked seeker so I wouldn't have to be in a crowded shed with 10 smelly boys.
"Yeah Woods, why didn't you pick the other team?" They grumbled as I snapped my head towards them.
"I'm sorry but do you actually think that attitude is going to help us win?" I asked making some of their eyes go wide from my answer.
