~Day 4~

I was woken up to the sound of a key being inserted into the lock of the door making me sit up and gasp. I looked over to see Liam was still asleep in the chair in my room. "Liam!" I exclaimed shooting daggers at him but he wouldn't wake up. I quickly snatched the pillow off my bed and threw it towards him smacking him in the face. He groaned opening his eyes groggily seeing I was pointing viciously towards the bathroom. "You have to leave!" I said hearing the door knob begin to turn.

"Oh shit-" Liam said leaping up and running into the bathroom shutting the door behind him. Just then the guard opened the door bringing in a tray of food.

"Here you go, you will likely be released later today," He said setting the tray down on the table. Just as he was about to turn around to leave I could hear the scratching noise in the ceiling as Liam was scooting himself across the air vent. The guard turned around and looked up cocking an eyebrow.

"Mice! There must be mice in the ceiling here. I heard them all last night," I said quickly making the guard nod his head and leave. "Phew," I said hoping we had avoided disaster there and that Liam would make it back to his room before the guard stopped there. I could hear the keys jingling in Liam's door as the scratching noise stopped above me.

After a bit I had finished my food and was anxiously waiting to be let out of my room when I heard the scratching noise again. I looked up shaking my head as I grabbed my crutches and made my way towards the bathroom, shutting the door behind me.

"Ronnie!" I heard from above, hearing his voice carry through the air vent.

"I'm here Liam!" I said back, trying to be quiet enough not to draw the attention of the guard but also allow Liam to hear me.

"Ronnie, they said they're letting me out today, I think it's too risky for me to come back over there," he said making me nod my head in agreement before realizing he couldn't see me.

"Same Liam! I hope we'll both be able to see each other again soon once we're both out."

"We will, I'll check in with you later Ronnie," he said before we both went our separate ways for the rest of the day.

"Cameron Woods, we're here to get you," someone announced outside my door about 4 hours later. I set the origami butterfly I had been making on the table as they unlocked the door and came in. The guard nodded in my direction as he moved over to unfold my wheelchair and pushed it near the bed. I pulled myself into the chair before saying "Thank you, where am I going?"

"We're taking you to the hospital one last time to check up on your foot before we transport you back," he said making me nod my head. The wheeled me out of the room and in the opposite direction down the hallway to Liam's room so I couldn't see if he was still there or not. I was wheeled halfway across the base to the hospital and was placed in a small room with a bed. The guards let me out of the chair and onto the bed before leaving the room and closing the door halfway.

"Let's get this over with, I'm ready to get out of here," I said to myself as I heard the doctor coming down the hall.

"Hello Miss Woods, I'm Dr. Roberts," he said as he stuck his hand out for me to shake.

 "Hello, nice to meet you."

"It seems here we are just making sure you are ready to be placed back into camp mentally and physically," He said looking over his notes making me nod my head. "Let's take a look at your foot first," he said putting on some rubber gloves and proceeding to take the boot off. He removed the bandages from my foot and inspected the stitches. "These are healing nicely, they should be able to be taken out within the next week. You should also be able to just use your crutches from now on," He said before wrapping my foot in a brand new bandage and placing the boot back on. Afterwards, he stood up pulling his rubber gloves off and grabbing his clipboard. "How do you feel you've been holding up since the crash mentally?"
