~Day 59~
Dear Cameron,
I hope RAF training is going well for you. Henry, James, and I miss you and your cooking. Stephen told me about your squadron leader being a pain in the ass, but couldn't remember his name. Hope he isn't causing you too much trouble. Please write back so I know you're safe.
Love, Dad

I smiled, looking down at the letter my father had written me. I was very surprised when I had received it, thinking I wouldn't ever get one from him.

It was about 6:30 in the morning, and I had just finished getting ready when I saw the letter on the chair in the corner of my room. Payne must have put it there.

Seeing I still had fifteen minutes before I needed to be at breakfast, I pulled out a pen and a piece of paper and began to write my father back.

Dear Dad,
Training is going great. I flew for the first time ever about three weeks ago, and it was a thrilling experience.

I was just about to write my next sentence when I heard a knock on my door, the person opening it without waiting for a response. I looked up to see Payne standing there making me almost immediately look back to my note.

"C'mon Woods you haven't spoken to me for a week, we have to fly today and this isn't good communication." He frowned making me scoff and continue writing my note. He wouldn't be hearing from me until he apologized.

And Stephen was right, my squadron leader really has been a "Payne" in the ass. He forced me to become his permanent flying partner but apparently it's for my own good.

"You can't ignore me forever Woods. We'll be in a confined jet together within the next few hours." Payne said, walking back out of my room. I couldn't ever get it right no matter how hard I tried. He was always disappointed in me for something.

We began flight rounds around the base last week and now we're practicing taking them further out into the ocean. Tell Henry and James I say hello, and that I've attached the recipe for lasagna.
Love you, Cameron

I looked over at the clock and decided I needed to leave for breakfast so I wouldn't be late. I folded the letter up and stuffed it in an envelope as I made my way out of my room. As I walked out of the office towards the bunks, I saw a giant lump under the covers in Louis's bed.

"Louis?" I asked as I walked around to the top bunk and looked up at him. He groaned in response, looking over at me with deep dark bags under his eyes.

"Oh my gosh, Louis! What's wrong? You look horrible!" I gasped, my hands covering my mouth.

"I feel like shit." He responded, closing his eyes and sniffling.

"Have you seen the camp doctor yet?" I asked my eyes wide as I felt his forehead. He was burning with a fever.

"No, I can't get out of bed without feeling like I'm going to vomit or pass out." He answered, clutching his stomach under the sheets.

"I'm going to go get the doctor for you." I said as I started to back away but was stopped when he shook his head at me.

"I don't want to be bed ridden, I get to fly again tonight." He grumbled making me put my hands on my hips.

"Louis you can't even stand up without feeling sick. You cannot fly a jet in your condition. I'm getting you the doctor, and I'll take over your flight tonight."

"Harry already offered to take over my shift because he isn't flying till tomorrow." He said making me shake my head.

"Nonsense, he's going to need to stay here and make sure you eat something. Which squadron leader were you flying with?" I asked, momentarily going back into my room to grab a bottle of water for him.
