~Day 15~
Rolling over in my sleep, I was rudely awakened by the sounds of squabbling seagulls. I groaned in annoyance, placing a hand over my ear to try and shield out the sound, but it was no use. They kept getting louder and louder.Deciding it would be useless to try and fall back asleep, I sat up in the shelter and leant my head up against the tree trunk. Opening my eyes as slowly as possible, as if to keep myself in the fantasy of my dreams, I came to terms with the new day.
I looked out to the beach, seeing the seagulls fighting over a crab in the midst of the sand trying to escape back to shore, when realization filled my head. These were the first other living things we had seen since we had been on the island. That meant there had to be another island in flying distance, right?!
So excited from the new finding, I shook Liam awake as fast as I could.
"Pay-Liam! Liam!" I was going to have to get used to calling him his first name.
"What? What?!" He asked, sitting up and immediately shoving me behind him as if to protect me from something.
"Liam, there's no one here." I said, patting his shoulder from behind.
"Well then why did you wake me up in such a panic?!" He asked, turning around to face me, confusion written all over his face.
"It wasn't a panic, I can protect myself from a couple of birds, Liam." I chuckled, raising my eyebrows at him.
"That's what you woke me up for? A flock of bloody seagulls?" He scoffed, as I moved to stand up and exit the shelter.
"Well they mean we're in flying distance of something." I then walked up and out of the shelter, and down towards the beach to get a closer look at the birds. I could hear Liam stirring behind me in the shelter as I walked to the ocean.
Just as I was nearing the edge of the trees, I felt a giant splotch land on my head making me scream out.
"AHHHH!" I screamed, sending Liam flying out of the shelter and towards me.
"What happened?!" He yelled running up to me and putting a hand on my shoulder. I turned around towards him with a glare on my face and pointed to my hair that now had a white mark in it.
His face of terror soon turned into a smirk as he teasingly said, "I thought you said you could protect yourself against a couple of birds."
My glare immediately became filled with more rage as I turned around and stomped off towards the ocean, making the other seagulls scatter immediately.
"Oh come on Ronnie! I was just kidding!" Liam called, still laughing to himself.
I didn't reply as I forcefully dunked my head under the water, brushing out the poop that made my hair more disgusting than it already was.
When I came up from under the water, I heard more screaming. I looked towards the shore to see Liam covering his head as more showers of bird poop rained down on him from the birds in the trees I had scattered off the beach.
My face immediately went from a frown to a smirk as I began giggling out in the middle of the ocean. Liam looked up from his position, glaring at me when he saw me looking.
"Oi this isn't funny!" He yelled making me laugh more.
"Seemed funny to you a couple of seconds ago!" I called back, turning back around to wash my hair out. I dunked my head under again and pulled my fingers through my hair, thinking about how my fingers could now possibly be infected and I'd have no medication to take if I happened to get sick.
