~Day 7~
"A whole fucking week and not even a single helicopter." I cursed, marking another tally into the tree. I had already had enough of this island.

I lightly brushed my fingers over the previous marks, their green color fading to a dark brown from exposure to the air.

Payne had gone out fishing earlier this afternoon with a makeshift spear. He had been working on the head for almost the entire week, boasting about it when he was done. I was just happy we were finally going to have some meat.

I had scoured the island a few more times, finding a couple of radishes growing in the midst of the forest. They weren't the best tasting, but the citrus from the fruits was starting to make my teeth sensitive and I was happy to have something less acidic.

That was another thing, going an entire week without brushing your teeth was just horrid. At one point I had tried to make my own paste, but had no luck. My teeth ended up turning green from the leaves I had tried to use. I've now just stuck with rinsing it out with coconut water.

Speaking of coconuts, my idea of shampoo didn't work. Since I didn't have any fresh water to rinse it in, the salt water ended up drying all the coconut out of my hair. Island life and beach waves may seem glorious, but you get tired of it pretty quickly.

On another note, we also decided our long pants were too hot, so we took it into our hands to fashion them into shorts and save the extra material for anything else we might need.

Off in the distance, I could see Payne returning from his loop around the island. Earlier in the week I may have wished a shark would've eaten him, but then realized I'd have no one to retrieve the coconuts for me.

He rounded the bend, holding up a fistful of fish making me smile in excitement. Finally, real food. So excited, I leaped up out of my position leant up against the tree and scurried towards the water.

"Here, take these." He said, handing me a bunch and picking up another batch in the raft.

"Go set them next to the fire." I nodded my head, walking back up on the beach and towards the fire. I set them down on the ground next to it, before walking back down to carry some more.

"You weren't gone for that long, how did you catch so many?" I asked, wading out into the water to reach him. He stepped out of the raft, handing me another bundle of fish while dragging the raft with him onto shore.

"What can I say? I've got an arm like Thor." He smirked making me rolling my eyes. We walked closer to shore together talking about how this would feed us for almost five days, until I gasped and looked down into the water.

"Payne! Y-you're bleeding!" I exclaimed, looking down to see the water a tint of red.

He furrowed his eyebrows, and looked down, his eyes widening. He then lifted both of his legs out of the water and when there weren't any open cuts to be seen, he looked back up to me still confused.

But I had already figured out the problem.

"Bloody hell." I said through gritted teeth as I sprinted up the beach away from Payne as fast as I possibly could, threw the fish down and immediately went to my toilet.

I could hear him calling my name as I ran away, but ignored him and squatted down. How did I not think this was going to happen? I had completely forgotten that I was going to have to endure a week of blood and pain the entire time on this island. Probably because I didn't think we would be here that long.

"Woods!" I heard him yell as he finished lugging the raft on shore and walked closer up to the woods, towards where I was.

"Get the hell away Payne!" I screamed, really wanting to pull my shorts off and not ruin the only pair of pants I had. I already knew the underwear was ruined and that I would possibly have to go commando from now on if I didn't get the shorts off as well.
