~One Week Later~
"Is that really the music you listen to?" I asked as I rolled my eyes while my father drove, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel to the old tune. He ignored me and kept humming, making me huff and lean up against the window.Just an hour ago I had said goodbye to my family. Stephen and William both came out to the house to bid me goodbye and I couldn't have been more grateful. I think Stephen had passed on my confession of disappointment to the rest of the family.
Sensing my nervousness peak again, I unfolded the letter in my hand for almost the fifth time this trip, to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything. This was going to be longest I had ever been away from home.
Cameron Woods to report to duty on June 15th for the Advanced Fast Flyers Program stationed in the Falkland Islands.

You must bring this as proof for entry.
Signed: Chief Air Marshal Robert Hamilton"Do you wish you could be more like me?" He asked cockily, breaking me from my thoughts as he began singing along to the lyrics. I groaned and folded the letter back up into the envelope as I could see the base come into view.
We had been driving for almost an hour and it was already pitch black. I sat up straight in my seat as we approached the gates as an officer came out.
"Hello welcome to RAF Benson, I presume you're here for the Fast Flyers Program?" He asked as we nodded our heads. "Great, I'll just need to see your letter of acceptance and your RAF Identification Card." I handed them over to my father, who then handed them to the officer. He scanned them with a machine to prove they were real, before handing them back to me and letting us proceed inside. The building looked a lot like RAF Halton but more updated and modern.
My father drove us to the front of the building, where we both climbed out and grabbed my luggage. He set it down next to me before quickly engulfing me in a hug, catching me by surprise.
"You're going to do great things Cameron. I'm very proud of you." He said as he hugged me even tighter. "You're just like your mother. You don't let anyone tell you what to do. But you need to make sure you come back home. Alright? I'm telling you right now, you must come back home." He said as I pulled back to look at him.
"You have nothing to worry about dad, I promise I'll come back." I said as a man walked up behind us.
"I'll take your luggage, miss. You can follow me this way." He said as I gave my dad another quick hug.
"I love you! You're still my little girl!" He called, his voice faltering a bit at the end as I began to walk away.
"Love you too dad!" I yelled back as I walked inside the camp, leaving him outside with his truck and a solemn look.
"Is there anything in here you'll be needing on the flight miss?" The boy asked making me shake my head.
"No I don't believe so." I replied as he nodded.
"You can go find your Squadron Leader before you board and I'll take your luggage to the aircraft." He said as he directed me towards a room and went another way. I walked over to the room and was greeted by yet another officer.
"Sorry soldier, no more females are on my list." He said making me furrow my eyebrows.
"Sir-"
"You must be here at the wrong time, you're not scheduled to leave for another month with the rest of your district." He said cutting me off. I was just about to protest again when I heard someone yelling from inside.
