We Got To Do Something

"Grayson, please help me." Daniel repeated.
Grayson approached Daniel and pulled him into a big hug. It lasted for a good two minutes before Grayson let go.
"Grayson, to be honest I'm actually scared for my life. I'm afraid that I'm actually going to do it. Please help me, please Grayson I'm begging you."
"You don't need to beg me for help. We're here for you no matter what and we'll always help you, and you have to help yourself as well."
"I know. I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused over the time that I've been here. You nearly died when we first met and then the both of us nearly died when we were kidnapped. I blame myself for all that has happened to you and I'm sorry."
"Daniel, you don't have to apologize for anything and what happened all those months ago was not your fault. Daniel, I want you to listen to me, so listen closely, okay?"
"Okay."
"Ever since we first met and ever since you met the rest of the family, you've always knew how lighten the mood, even if it wasn't a bad situation. You really crack us up and you showed us a kindness that no other friend has shown us before. You've really done a lot for us, you even saved my life and I'm eternally grateful. You're not just some kid who found me being bullied, you're a one true friend and you will forever be our brother. We love you Daniel, forever and always."
"Thank you and I will always be there for all of you. You are my family and will always love you."
"And we'll always be there for you."
Daniel just smiled and I reached over him and picked up the knife. Before I departed I gave Daniel one last hug and made sure that the blade was nowhere near him. This time the hug only lasted for thirty seconds, once we let go of each other I told Daniel that I would be right back and it only took me thirty seconds to go downstairs to place the knife in the sink and then return back in my room.
"That was quick."
I just chuckled. Once again I approached Daniel but this time I sat down next to him. I placed my arm around him and started to massage his left shoulder.
"Can you massage both of them please?"
I got behind Daniel, placed both of my hands on his shoulders and started to massage them. They were pretty tight, no wonder he asked me to massage both.
"Man that feels good. You should become a masseuse. You're pretty darn good at this."
"I'm not "that" good."
"Yes, you are!"
"I may go see if my brother."
"You should, he must need one."
"Maybe."
"Do you want to go?"
"I'll go, but I'll go after five more minutes."
"Ok, but what we going to do for five minutes?"
"What do you want to do?"
"To be honest, I don't know. I'm bored."
"Tell you what, I'll go and massage my brother's shoulders later. Until then...lets go for a walk. We haven't gone for one in awhile."
"Yeah, we haven't. Especially when it was the two of us."
"Can we stop talking now and go for our walk?"
I just chuckled and said, "Of course."

10 minutes later...
We were sitting on the swings and we saw a family of four stroll in. From what I could tell one their sons was eight years old and they other one was only six years old. They looked like a pretty nice family, just like when Daniel had his kids. Kaden gets murdered and then Alice takes her own life, I feel bad for him. He only knew them for eight years. I still can't imagine what he's going through, if I were to be a parent at his age and I found out what he did, I would also be depressed, but I wouldn't try to take my own life, even though he didn't attempt it. I'm proud of him, usually he would cut himself, but he didn't, I truly am proud of him.
"Hey Daniel?"
"Yes."
"Remember when you were staring at that knife and you were thinking about cutting yourself?"
"I do, but why would you bring that up?"
"Because, I'm proud of you, I'm glad that you didn't go through with it. I knew you could beat it. You're strong Daniel and you can do anything that you set your mind on. Hell, you could be the one to find the cure for cancer."
"I would love to, but I would choose to end world hunger first."
I just smiled brightly.
"You truly are an intrapersonal guy, you put others ahead of yourself."
"That's right, even when I was attempting suicide way back when, I still thought about all of you."
"So, why did you go through with it? The cutting and planning to fall to your death off of a tree?"
"I was foolish and stupid back then. I didn't even bother to go to you or anyone else for help. I just...did it, without any remorse."
"You've come along way Daniel and we're proud of you. So, what do you want to do now?"
"First of all, I want to say thanks and secondly I'd like to..."
"What?"
Daniel took a few deep breaths before he replied.
"I'd like to...I'd like to go and pay my respects to my kids, my mom, and to Haley."
"Ok, if you're sure."
"I am. I can do this, plus with you by my side, nothing can go wrong."
We both hugged for thirty seconds and then we started to head to the cemetery.
